Strategy
Scraps is best understood as a survivalist.
Her active ability is Crafty Grapple.
Scraps possesses the best Stamina stat in the game at five stars (tied with Sprout, Bobette, and Blot) and an active ability, Crafty Grapple, that can pull her toward any allied Toon or Machine within line of sight with invincibility frames during the animation. These traits make her best suited to a Survivalist role, excelling at escaping Twisteds and reaching the Elevator during Panic Mode. While her below-average two-star Movement Speed partially negates her large Stamina pool, Items like Speed Candies or Boxes o' Chocolates and Trinkets such as Pink Bow are more than capable of turning her into a force to be reckoned with. Otherwise, she does not excel at anything in particular, as her two-star Skill Check and three-star Extraction Speed make the extraction process somewhat slow.
On PC, hovering the cursor over nearby Toons or Machines will outline them in white, indicating valid grapple targets. On Mobile, being in their proximity achieves the same effect. This is useful for noticing teammates through walls, but remember that Crafty Grapple requires direct line of sight. However, if a target moves behind an object after you have already initiated the grapple, you will continue moving to the location where they were when you activated the ability. Grappling onto Machines is less predictable since Machine spawns vary between runs, but on later Floors where Machine density increases, escape becomes significantly easier due to the abundance of grapple targets. Keep in mind that during Blackouts, Twisteds may be lurking near Machines and can hit you right after you arrive due to the ability's slight end-lag. It also takes approximately 0.8 seconds for Scraps to travel toward the target after activation, so maintaining some distance when being chased is advisable.
While Scraps has five-star Stamina, her two-star Movement Speed creates a notable conflict. She can only outrun Twisteds by a slim margin and struggles to break line of sight. It is heavily recommended to use run speed Trinkets such as Pink Bow (24.2 run speed) or Speedy Shoes (23.125 run speed) to compensate. Using Clown Horn and Ribbon Spool together provides 24.75 run speed, close to three-star levels, though this consumes both Trinket slots. If you want to keep a slot open for utility, Pink Bow offers the best consistency. Ghost Snakes In A Can is another solid option, especially on later Floors where more Machines spawn, allowing quicker traversal and more frequent use of Crafty Grapple's invincibility frames, though it does not directly boost Movement Speed.
One niche where Scraps truly shines is passing Twisteds to distractor Toons. Thanks to her average three-star Stealth and the invincibility frames on Crafty Grapple, she can lead a Twisted toward a distractor's zone and then grapple to a distant Machine or player, swapping distance priority and transferring aggro. The invincibility frames also let her safely pass faster Twisteds and ranged Twisteds like Twisted Goob. When passing to two-star Stealth distractors, she can grapple directly to the distractor instead. Equipping the Diary Trinket expands this strategy to work with three-star Stealth distractors as well. Combined with a Movement Speed boost from Pink Bow and her five-star Stamina, Scraps can pass practically any Twisted to a teammate. While Glisten and Flutter could theoretically match this capability with their higher speeds, neither gains invincibility frames from their abilities, both have longer cooldowns, and Glisten has lower Stealth.
Scraps is not the strongest choice for Dyle's Floor. Her lower mobility and two-star Skill Check both pose significant disadvantages, and the Floor's bonus of 50 Stamina is largely wasted on a Toon who already caps out at five stars. However, the abundant Machines scattered across the Floor can enable quick traversal and escapes through Crafty Grapple. If survivability from Movement Speed is a concern, Glisten may be a better alternative with his three-star Movement Speed and faster extraction, though his much longer ability cooldown, inability to grapple Machines, two-star Stealth, and shared Skill Check weakness make the trade-off situational.
For Trinket combinations, Survivalist Scraps benefits most from Pink Bow paired with Speedy Shoes (25.3 run speed, enough to outrun Twisted Bobette before Panic Mode) or Vanity Mirror (31.4 run speed during Panic Mode, outrunning nearly everything). Extraction-focused builds should consider Magnifying Glass to leverage her three-star Extraction Speed alongside Vee's Remote for faster Floor progression, or Participation Award to maximize Skill Check extraction at the cost of a very small window size. For ability-focused builds, Ghost Snakes In A Can combined with Peppermint Icing creates powerful synergy: with Rehearsal and Practice cards, Crafty Grapple reaches a 10-second cooldown, allowing Scraps to continuously refresh the Stamina boost from Peppermint Icing throughout the entire game. If other extractors are present on your team, ask them to handle your Machines and use the time saved to scout for additional Machines or position near the Elevator before Panic Mode begins.
Appearance
Personality
Scraps is a kind and artistic Toon who loves making arts and crafts and cares deeply about the well-being of other Toons, especially her younger brother Goob. She can be somewhat airheaded and forgetful at times, as seen in her interactions with Brightney and Tisha where she neglects tasks or loses track of things. She is always on the lookout for new materials for her art projects, having asked Blot for his ink and even approached Sprout about using ketchup as an alternative paint, both of whom refused. Despite not actually being a cat, Scraps displays numerous feline tendencies, including a fondness for yarn, hissing in certain dialogue lines, getting on all fours when startled, enjoying fish, disliking water (which may also relate to her paper construction), and wagging her tail when annoyed or angry. She can become somewhat aggressive and act a bit immature in certain situations, such as in her exchanges with Pebble and Shrimpo. She may also hold a slight grudge toward Shrimpo, as she mentions him in her interactions with Boxten and Flyte. Scraps is one of the few Toons who actually fights back against Shrimpo's bullying, albeit through hissing. Her dialogue with Brusha suggests she considers her physical crafts to be more authentic than Brusha's art, and the two do not appear to be on good terms, with Brusha calling Scraps a 'Glitter Glue painting.' She also has acrophobia, a fear of heights, as revealed in her interaction with Flutter, which is ironic given her feline nature since cats instinctually seek higher ground. Overall, Scraps is a mature Toon for the most part who makes sure she is always there for her brother Goob.

Trivia
- In v0.7.1, Scraps' Crafty Grapple ability was buffed to allow her to latch onto Machines in addition to Toons. That same update also patched a bug where grappling onto a Toon moving behind an object caused the ability to fail and left Scraps stuck.
- Scraps is the older sister of Goob, making them one of the sibling pairs in the game.
- While she has a distinctly cat-like design, Scraps insists she is not actually a cat and merely has a feline appearance.
- Contradicting her claim, Scraps admits to having a taste for fish (revealed in dialogue with Finn), hisses in some lines of dialogue with Shrimpo and Pebble, gets on all fours when startled, dislikes water (which may also be because she is made of paper), and wags her tail when annoyed or angry.
- Her fondness for yarn, mentioned in Tisha's dialogue and visible in her room in Roleplaying Mode, is another classic feline stereotype.
- In an animation with Vee, her tail gives a small swish when she is happy or excited, and she jumps onto the buzzer scared when Vee appears next to her, resembling how cartoon cats react when startled.
- Her name refers to small leftover pieces of materials, fitting her identity as a paper craft assembled from scraps of paper. Her cobbled-together appearance, being a mixture of paper, a plastic cup, and crayon, may also be a reason for the name.
- Scraps does not dislike Dandy, though she would prefer he keep Pebble out of the Elevator, as mentioned in one of her exchanges with Pebble.
- She has managed to win every prize Vee has given away on her game show through lucky guesses, implying Scraps can be very lucky. Cats are often tied to luck, which is likely the source of this trait.
- In Roleplaying Mode, Scraps shares the same room with Goob because they are siblings.
- Scraps carries the designation SC-015, where the SC stands for Side Character. Despite being older than Goob, Goob was oddly created before Scraps in the development timeline.
- She is the first non-Main Character Toon to have a five-star rating on any stat, and remained the only one with this distinction until the v0.3 update.
- She ties with Sprout, Bobette, and Blot for the highest base Stamina in the game at 200.
- If Scraps and Goob activate their abilities targeting each other at the same time, they cancel out and Scraps does not move. If two Scraps players use their abilities on each other, they meet up in the middle.
- Goob and Scraps have complementary abilities: Goob's ability drags other Toons toward him, while Scraps' ability pulls herself toward other Toons.
- The magenta lines visible over Scraps' eyes are actually drawn-on crayon makeup, likely applied using her signature Trinket, the Crayon Set.
- Scraps was originally male in old concept art, visible in some posters where she has no eyelashes and there are spacing errors between pronouns on her info card. She is not canonically transgender.
- Scraps was not originally intended to be Goob's sister when the developer Qwel was designing her, but this was changed since Qwel thought it would be a nice connection, given that they are both crafts.
- Scraps was not originally intended to be cat-like. Her ears were initially designed as horns, but they resembled cat ears strongly enough that Qwel decided to embrace the feline look. In a QnA stream, Qwel accidentally referred to Scraps' ears as horns, which may explain why Shrimpo says 'AND I DON'T LIKE YOUR EAR, HORN, THINGYS!!' in his dialogue with her.
- Scraps would be nervous if someone else is watching her draw, as confirmed by Qwel in a New Years QnA stream.
- Scraps has acrophobia (fear of heights), as seen in her interaction with Flutter. This is ironic given her feline nature, since most cats instinctually seek higher ground.
- Scraps and Vee have the longest interaction in the game, with seven lines of dialogue.
- Scraps is one of the few Toons to fight back against Shrimpo's bullying, albeit through hissing, alongside Connie and Pebble.
- If timed correctly, Crafty Grapple can be used to avoid Twisted Goob's ranged attack.
- If you enter the Art Floor as Scraps and go to her area, she will say 'Ugh! I miss doing craft time here!'
- Scraps is the first Toon to have ears, followed by Looey, Rudie, Cocoa, and Eclipse.
- Scraps is currently the only playable Toon with five-star Stamina to not have two-star Extraction Speed, excluding Dyle and Dandy since they are both developer exclusive.
- When using Scraps' ability over an Ichor Leak puddle, you will still be inflicted with the Illness and Slow debuffs.
- Scraps' Cutesy Calico skin was replaced by the Crafty Calico skin for an unknown reason in v0.20.1. She is the first Toon to have a redesigned skin, along with Flutter's Vivid Monarch skin.
- Due to a bug after the 2024 Christmas Event, her Cutesy Calico skin was completely removed from Dandy's Store. The bug was later fixed and the skin returned in a patch.
