Strategy
Glisten is best understood as a extractor survivalist.
His active ability is Reflection!.
Glisten has the highest Extraction Speed in the game, making him one of the best Extractor Toons available. While his small Skill Check window may give other extractors an edge in raw accuracy, Glisten's average Movement Speed, solid Stamina, and easy-escape active ability make him arguably the more well-rounded choice. He is similar to Vee in stats but faster on foot, though both share a low Stealth rating that can become an issue.
His active ability, Reflection!, allows him to teleport to a targeted Toon without requiring line of sight, making it exceptionally flexible for escaping Twisteds, getting out of dead ends, or covering ground quickly. Key uses include skipping long hallways and staircases, reaching Machines or Items faster, making it to the Elevator during Panic Mode, avoiding stealing aggro from Distractors, saving higher-stealth or lower-speed teammates, escaping Twisted Razzle and Dazzle or Twisted Rodger if a teammate accidentally triggers them, and baiting Twisted Vee or other snipers to give Distractors a head start. Be aware that teleporting to a Toon near an Ichor puddle will still inflict the Illness III debuff, and Twisteds do not instantly forget your position after teleporting — they continue heading toward your last known location until their normal attention span expires.
Managing the ability's 100-second cooldown is critical. Using Reflection! at the wrong moment can leave you stranded with no escape. Additionally, the Confused III debuff applied after each use reduces Extraction Speed to just 0.375 for 10 seconds and disorients your camera, so avoid teleporting right before starting a Machine. The ability can also be difficult to aim under pressure — practice targeting the correct teammate before relying on it in high-stakes situations.
Distractors are essential teammates for Glisten. Eclipse, Gourdy, or Looey work best to keep Twisteds occupied while Glisten extracts, particularly because they have comparable or lower Stealth. Other Distractors can fill the role as long as you stay out of their path and monitor your distance to nearby Twisteds at all times.
For Trinket combinations, Survivability setups include Pink Bow paired with Speedy Shoes for maximum run speed (28.1), Vanity Mirror to outrun every Twisted except Twisted Dyle during Panic Mode (35 run speed), Diary to avoid disturbing 2-star Stealth distractors, or Star Pillow to regenerate Stamina faster while extracting. Extraction-focused builds include Magnifying Glass plus Participation Award to maximize Skill Check extraction speed (at the cost of a near 1-star window size), Magnifying Glass plus Thinking Cap for easier Skill Checks, Magnifying Glass plus Mime Makeup to avoid attracting Twisteds on missed checks, Magnifying Glass plus Vee's Remote for quicker floor progression, or Stress Ball for stacking Extraction Speed bonuses from consecutive successful checks. For ability cooldown reduction, Sweet Charm lowers Reflection!'s cooldown to 92 seconds, and pairing it with Ghost Snakes In A Can further reduces it to roughly 87 seconds.
Appearance
Personality
Outwardly, Glisten is charismatic, prideful, and outgoing. He thrives on being the center of attention and being included by the other Toons, obsessing over appearing perfect in both looks and capabilities. Despite his ego occasionally getting in the way, he is genuinely kind — he freely compliments Toons like Bassie, Cosmo, and Teagan. Underneath his flamboyant persona, however, Glisten is deeply insecure, as implied through many interactions, notably with Sprout, Toodles, Rodger, and Astro, where he becomes defensive when they point out his shortcomings. He often overworks himself maintaining his flawless facade, as revealed by notes in his Roleplay Mode bedroom. His insecurity ties directly to his Twisted counterpart's autophobia — a fear of being abandoned or left alone. He frequently uses laughter to mask stress, and his self-centered comments tend to surface when other Toons check in on him or tease him. He is also notably clumsy, frequently bumping into objects, which Rodger and Dyle have both noticed.

Trivia
- Despite popular belief due to his flamboyant personality, Glisten is not canonically homosexual, as confirmed by Qwelver.
- Glisten was originally a Don't Hug Me I'm Scared OC created by Qwelver.
- He is the second non-Main Character Toon to have 5 stars on a stat.
- He owns a wired microphone, shown in his Introduction Card artwork and mentioned when he tells Vee his mic is broken.
- Glisten and Scraps share a similar active ability — teleporting to a Toon's location — but Scraps' ability requires line of sight and also works on Machines, while Glisten's does not require line of sight and has a cooldown four times longer.
- His name means 'to reflect a sparkling light or a faint intermittent glow,' fitting for a mirror character. He was originally going to be named 'Mirror' before the change.
- His designation is SC-007, with SC standing for Side Character.
- Using his active ability inflicts the Confused III debuff on himself, making him the first and currently only Toon to obtain a visible debuff from an ability.
- A Roleplay Mode note explains that the Confused III debuff occurs because the teleportation disorients him and makes him dizzy, causing him to bump into things. His dialogue with Rodger and gossip from Dyle confirm this.
- This clumsiness from his ability may also contribute — on top of his insecurities — to why he is so concerned about his appearance and frequently asks other Toons if he looks good.
- In Roleplay Mode, Glisten's bedroom is on the same floor as Boxten, Brightney, Goob, Poppy, Razzle & Dazzle, Scraps, and Shrimpo. He is the only post-v0.1 Toon to have a Roleplay room.
- Notes in his Roleplay Mode bedroom reveal his insecurity: one describes him practicing his mirror trick until dizzy and hiding it from others, and another has scribbled text reading 'I just wish everyone could see that I'm there at the best times.'
- He assists Toodles with applying her makeup.
- Glisten is implied to be friends with Razzle & Dazzle, as shown in their dialogue and one of his letters stating 'I guess Razzle & Dazzle are fine.'
- He seems to dislike Finn and his puns, based on their interaction and a note in his room saying 'I'm just happy it isn't Finn!'
- He and Vee share many traits: both wear bows, make similar facial expressions, cross their arms while idle, share identical Extraction Speed, Stealth, and Stamina values, and both own a microphone. This reflects how Glisten sees Vee as an inspiration, and he even has Vee's 'Smile' poster in his room.
- A Discord community poll determined that Glisten has a more flattering side profile than Rodger.
- Glisten harbors a dislike for clowns and likely Looey's Circus Troupe by extension, based on his dialogue with Yatta and Looey.
- He frequently uses laughter to mask stress and insecurity, as seen in dialogues with Astro, Brightney, Cosmo, Rudie, Tisha, and Toodles, and in his solo elevator dialogue.
- Up until v0.9.1, Glisten was the most expensive non-Main Toon in the game before being replaced by Blot.
- Glisten was the first Toon to have two idle animations (checking his hand and his bow wiggling), though after his optimization in v0.12.1, the two were combined into one.
- He is the first Rare Toon to receive optimizations post-release, the only non-Main Toon optimized in v0.12.1, and the only Rare Toon not optimized in pairs.
- After v0.10.1, the 'Astro in Stage Fright' poster was removed from his room and replaced by the 'SMILE!' poster.
- Glisten is the first base game Toon to receive more than one Holiday Skin in a single Event, getting Crimson Imp and Wrapped Chic during the 2025 Halloween Event.
- Using Reflection! to teleport to a Toon on the opposite side of an Ichor puddle will still inflict the Illness III debuff.
- His stats may reflect his character: his 5-star Extraction Speed represents his desire to complete Machines quickly to impress others, the harder Skill Checks reflect the finer details and smaller room for mistakes in attempted perfection, and his 2-star Stealth mirrors how reflective mirrors are of light.
- Glisten may have vision problems or a deficit in spatial awareness based on his tendency to bump into walls or objects. This may also explain why he did not realize Cosmo's star freckles are natural rather than makeup.
- There is a glitch where if two or more Glistens teleport to each other, all Confused III effects can stack on one Glisten, causing a major accumulation of debuffs.
