Introduction

Glisten is a charismatic mirror who always wants the spotlight! Sometimes his ego brings up new issues but he will always stand up for his friends and what's right.

Description

Glisten the Mirror, also known as Glisten, is one of the 27 playable Toons in Dandy's World, added on August 14th, 2024. He is available to be bought in Dandy's Store. He is designation R-002, with the R most likely standing for Rare.

Appearance

Glisten's design features a circular mirror form with a light golden border and body. His border swirls at the top, creating a unique 'hair' appearance, and he has noticeable pink blush beneath his eyes. A large pink bow is positioned behind Glisten, tied around his chest. He is adorned with white leg warmers that have tiny pink spots, and artwork often depicts him holding a microphone.

Personality

Outwardly, Glisten presents himself as proud and egotistical, seeming to admire himself above all else. He also seeks attention from those around him. However, beneath this facade, Glisten has a hidden insecure side, which is implied through various interactions. He fears being abandoned or left alone (autophobia), and overworks himself to appear perfect to others. Despite his insecurities, he is loyal to his friends and will stand up for what's right when needed.

STRATEGIES

Glisten's Extraction Speed stat matches Vee, making Glisten one of the best Extractors in the game. While Glisten's Small Skill Check might make Vee the slightly better Extractor, Glisten's higher Movement Speed and easy getaway Abilities arguably make him a superior Toon overall.

You can use Glisten's Active Ability, Reflection!, to easily escape chasing Twisteds. Line of sight isn't required for this ability, making it even more versatile. However, monitoring Glisten's Active Ability cooldown is crucial; using it at the wrong time can leave you trapped in tricky situations. The Confused III debuff that Glisten receives after using his ability (due to dizziness) can also make navigation temporarily difficult.

It's best to have Distractors like Goob and Looey to ensure Twisteds don't bother Glisten while extracting, especially because they share Glisten's low Stealth stat. However, other Distractors work as well, as long as you stay out of the way. Watching Glisten's Stealth stat and distance to the Twisteds is necessary because of this vulnerability.

For Trinket combinations, consider Magnifying Glass + Participation Award to extract machines at nearly Vee's normal pace, though with the drawback of reducing your skill check size. Blue Bandana + Machine Manual reduces the penalty from his lower skill check stat while boosting his extraction speed. Alternatively, speed-oriented Trinkets like Pink Bow/Dog Plush + Speedy Shoes can help Glisten evade pursuers due to his low Stealth.

Glisten was originally a Don't Hug Me I'm Scared OC that Qwelver made.
Glisten is the third non-Main Character Toon to have 5 stars on a stat, the first being Scraps, the second being Razzle & Dazzle, the fourth being Gigi, and the fifth being Connie.
Glisten owns a wired microphone. He is shown holding it in his info card artwork and mentions it breaking to Vee in one of their dialogues.
Him and Scraps also have a really similar ability, the only differences being that Scraps needs line of sight to use hers while Glisten's has a 4 times longer cooldown period.
His name, Glisten, means 'to reflect a sparkling light or a faint intermittent glow', reflecting his status as a mirror.
Glisten would listen to 'awesome music'.
Glisten is designation R-002 with the R standing most likely for Rare.
Glisten receives the Confused III Debuff upon using his Active Ability.
