Strategy
Shrimpo is best understood as a challenge.
Shrimpo's passive ability is Bully.
Purchasing and playing as Shrimpo is generally not recommended unless you are specifically seeking a self-imposed challenge. That said, here are some tips and strategies for those who want to give it a shot.
If you do choose Shrimpo, extreme caution and patience are essential. Twisteds will detect him almost instantly due to his catastrophic Stealth, leaving virtually no margin for error. Getting spotted often leads to death. You may need to wait in place until you are completely certain it is safe before making any move. Items can help offset his terrible speed, and Trinkets can provide marginal improvements to his weaknesses. In this sense, Shrimpo can actually serve as an effective learning tool, since mistakes carry much heavier consequences with him than with any other Toon.
Watch out especially for Twisteds like Toodles, whose Speed matches Shrimpo's. To shake most Twisteds, looping around freestanding structures not connected to walls works well, allowing you to break line of sight without straying too far.
If a Twisted is chasing you with no escape route available, try to take a hit just before reaching a corner so you can quickly duck behind it and drop their aggro. This is a last-resort tactic, but given who you are playing, expect to need it frequently.
Shrimpo can benefit from extracting Machines near the Elevator, since on earlier floors with good timing you may finish around the same time as other Machines, giving you a head start reaching the Elevator. This is especially valuable given the extreme danger Panic Mode poses to Shrimpo, though equipping a Vanity Mirror can mitigate this threat.
Despite his poor Movement Speed, Shrimpo does have one situational use in Kiting. If you notice a low-mobility Toon (such as Vee) being chased by a Twisted they cannot outrun, you can run toward them and draw the Twisted's attention thanks to your abysmally low Stealth, potentially buying the more valuable Toon precious seconds to escape. However, his extremely low speed and stamina make sustained kiting largely impractical.
One practical role for Shrimpo is monitoring Twisted Glisten. Since Shrimpo is not well-suited for Extracting or sustained kiting, assigning him to watch Glisten and prevent her from becoming hostile while other Toons handle larger threats is a smart use of his limited toolkit. Just make sure your teammates alert you to pull back before Panic Mode triggers, since Glisten turns hostile regardless at that point.
Shrimpo's -99 Stealth also enables a unique magnet-distraction strategy that no other Toon can replicate. Because he draws aggro from enormous distances and cannot have it removed (except by Blot's ability), he can pull Twisteds away from struggling teammates. If a distractor is dealing with a long-ranged Twisted, Shrimpo can steal aggro from far enough away that the attack misses entirely. He can also serve as a permanent bodyguard for low-Stealth Toons like Brightney, since even an Air Horn user still has more Stealth than Shrimpo. During Panic Mode, Shrimpo can lure Twisteds near the Elevator toward himself and then step back inside, effectively freezing them in place. Combining Pop Pack with Vanity Mirror lets him sustain this distraction role throughout Panic Mode at speed sufficient to outrun most Twisteds.
For trinket loadouts, the core survivability pairing is Pink Bow plus a second trinket tailored to the situation: Speedy Shoes for raw speed, Vanity Mirror to outrun nearly every Twisted during Panic Mode, Cooler for a larger Stamina pool, Friendship Bracelet for extended sprinting in multiplayer, Train Whistle to nullify Slow debuffs from Twisted Vee and Ichor Puddles, Blushy Bat to prevent combo hits after Stamina runs out, or Soul Sword to slow Twisteds on hit. For extraction support, Vee's Remote lets Shrimpo instantly complete dangerous machines, Mime Makeup removes Skill Check failure risk, and Thinking Cap increases Skill Check size. Note that Diary and Scrapbook have inverted effects on Shrimpo: Diary further decreases his already abysmal Stealth, while Scrapbook increases it, due to the negative base value.
Shrimpo and Dandy
Shrimpo is often searched alongside Dandy because their lore and dialogue suggest a long-standing connection inside Dandy's World.
Appearance
Personality
Shrimpo is an abrasive, short-tempered Toon who is relentlessly angry for no discernible reason. His most defining trait is that he claims hatred for anyone, anything, and everything he encounters, while simultaneously placing himself on a pedestal and occasionally praising only himself, sometimes in the third person. All of his dialogue is delivered in shouting (rendered in all-caps text), and he regularly directs verbal hostility at other Toons. Unlike stereotypical bully characters in children's media who usually have good hearts deep down or eventually get redeemed, Shrimpo shows barely any depth or willingness to change. In his exchange with Glisten, he flatly refuses any suggestion that he should improve his behavior. He does not care about other Toons' feelings, as shown when he torments Squirm to the point of tears and then mocks the crying. He dismisses any criticism or logic when called out, sometimes even silencing the other Toon entirely. Notably, Sprout is the only Toon capable of shutting Shrimpo down and intimidating him into silence, and Yatta can shock him by genuinely acknowledging his strength. However, some hints suggest Shrimpo may not be entirely without redeeming qualities: Dandy suspects that Shrimpo and Finn could be friends after spotting them walking together, and Shrimpo eats Cosmo's food despite claiming to hate it.

Trivia
- Shrimpo's designation is SC-002, with the SC standing for Side Character.
- He is the cheapest Toon in Dandy's Store, costing just 100 Ichor.
- His interaction with Toodles may be a reference to the popular 'WE'RE GONNA CRASH' meme. This is also the first time he does not insult anyone, instead intentionally trying to frighten Toodles into thinking the Elevator will crash.
- Despite his Stealth stat displaying as one star, his actual Stealth value is -99 due to his Bully passive, equivalent to roughly -20 stars. This is lower than both Brightney and Gourdy.
- Only Blot's ability (at -999 Stealth) surpasses Shrimpo's negative Stealth, but since Blot Jr. is an ability summon rather than a playable character, Shrimpo holds the record among actual Toons.
- This Stealth value is substantially lower than what Air Horn and Pebble's Speak ability reduce Stealth to.
- Using Coal or Scrapbook trinkets with Shrimpo will actually increase his Stealth, since a negative number multiplied by a negative percentage yields a positive result. Conversely, Diary further decreases it.
- Based on his exchange with Scraps, Shrimpo appears to prefer dogs over cats, though he claims to hate both. This is the only time Shrimpo openly confesses to liking something.
- He occasionally speaks in third person, referring to himself as 'Shrimpo' rather than 'I'.
- Shrimpo is the sole Toon with fewer than 15 total stars across his stat pool, having only 5.
- He is the only Toon with 1 star in every single stat, making him the most difficult character to use effectively. This is intentional, as he was designed to serve as a challenge character.
- Shrimpo's interaction with Sprout is the only time he stops yelling and falls completely silent.
- In Roleplay Mode, equipping and viewing Shrimpo's actions reveals unique messages different from any other Toon: his blink action is called 'BLINK!!!', his hurt expression is 'SHRIMPO DOES NOT GET HURT!!!', and his normal expression is 'MY AWESOME FACE!!!'.
- During an Art Stream/QNA on 8/15/2024 on Discord, Qwelver revealed that Shrimpo does like one thing, though what it is has not yet been disclosed.
- It was confirmed in a livestream on 10/17/2024 that Shrimpo has no actual reason for bullying other Toons other than just wanting to.
- Qwel confirmed in a New Year QnA stream that Shrimpo would be the type to pour milk before cereal.
- No one seems to take Shrimpo seriously, implying his bullying is more about annoying other Toons or starting fights rather than genuine malice. Despite what he says, he seldomly physically harms Toons and mostly just threatens to.
- Bobette is the only Holiday Main Character to have an interaction with Shrimpo. She and Ginger are the only Toons who apologize to Shrimpo during their dialogue with him.
- Brusha, Gigi, and Finn are some of the only Toons to respond positively to Shrimpo's bullying: Finn is glad Shrimpo remembers his facts, Gigi treats him like a spunky friend, and Brusha shrugs it off.
- Shrimpo is strong enough to tear holes through walls and knock punching bags off their chains, as shown in his Roleplay Mode bedroom. Qwelver confirmed that Shrimpo could defeat adult humans in fights and admitted she would run away if he challenged her.
- Shrimpo shares equal mobility stats with Soulvester.
- Shrimpo is one of the Toons featured in the 2025 Care Bears Collab alongside Astro and Shelly. He is the only one of the three who is not a Main Character, and his Grumpy Bear skin will never be unlockable again.
- Shrimpo's low Extraction Speed and Skill Check are most likely due to him banging his head against the Machine instead of extracting it normally.
- If you enter the Aquatic Floor as Shrimpo and visit his section, he says 'I HATE THIS PLACE!! NOT ENOUGH PICTURES OF ME!!!' making him one of a handful of Toons with dialogue outside the Elevator, ability use, or machine completion.
- The Treasure Hunt poster in the Aquatic Floor depicts Shrimpo underwater without equipment, fitting for an aquatic creature. He is currently the only Toon shown to be capable of breathing underwater.
- Shrimpo and Coal are the only Toons that have never been shown smiling, either in-game or in official doodles.
- Shrimpo is currently the only Toon to say his own name in the third person during dialogue.
- What Shrimpo claims to hate is prompted by the current situation, making his hatred patterns inconsistent and contradictory. For example, he reprimands Teagan for asking what he hates, but does not react the same way when Eggson asks if Shrimpo hates him specifically.
