Introduction

Shelly is a fossil enthusiast who loves to share her knowledge of prehistoric life! She teaches children about the wonders of the ancient world and the creatures that once roamed the Earth.

Description

Shelly the Ammonite, full name Shelly Fossilian, is one of the 27 playable Toons in Dandy's World, added on July 12th, 2024 alongside Flutter, Teagan, and Tisha. She is one of the 6 playable Main Characters and can be purchased in Dandy's Store.

Appearance

Shelly is a beige Ammonite Shell with a black aperture usually seen on the left side of her head, although some artworks depict it on the right side. She has orange blush and two eyelashes underneath her eyes. She wears a sleeveless overall dress with a light brown undershirt with a dark brown dress over it.

Personality

Shelly is an extroverted Toon, who often likes to talk about her interest in dinosaurs and other forms of prehistoric life with the other Toons. She is supportive and kind towards others. She also seems to have worries about being ignored which means she possibly has autophobia but tries to brush it off and claim that she's fine, based on her interaction with Teagan and one with Tisha. She also seems to be shocked when Astro or Vee talk to her in one of each of their interactions, possibly due to how ignored she is compared to the other Main Toons. She is also the most ignored or forgotten Toon out of all the Main Toons, and this has been implied multiple times in the game and in one of Qwel's doodles, and even Shelly herself acknowledges it.

STRATEGIES

Shelly has one of the best Skill Check stats (5 ★), (along with Gigi) which leans her into Extraction. Her main skill, Inspiration, is capable of drastically increasing Extraction Speed of the selected Toon, making her excel at Support. As Shelly, you can either follow an Extractor until they find a Machine and boost them, or go off on your own and extract Machines, boosting teammates on the off-chance you stumble across an Extracting one. Upon a Machine's finish, her passive, Problem Solver, solves one of her other problems - Her average speed, by giving her a boost in Movement Speed until the 10 seconds wear off. Although this is situational, it can quite decide life or death.

Her main weakness comes in the form of her Stamina and average stat spread. Her Stamina is a measly 2 ★, leaving her unable to run for long periods of time. Although her Movement Speed may be average, she will have trouble running from Twisteds as they outspeed her while running, especially faster Twisteds like her Twisted counterpart, Twisted Toodles, Twisted Gigi, enraged Twisted Glisten, and Twisted Pebble, which will be major nuisances as she has only 2 max Health. Also, similarly to Astro, her stat spread is relatively average, making her capable of doing both Extraction and Distraction, however she leans more towards Extraction through her Skill Check.

It is recommended to play in a team with Distractors, such as Goob or Pebble, allowing you to capitalize off your skill without throwing you straight in harm's way.

As for Items, a very obvious choice would be Stamina boosting and restoring Items, allowing her to survive longer with her mediocre stamina. Like every other Toon, she benefits from healing, but preferably Bandages should be picked up, as the extra healing from Health Kits will be wasted, given her status as a Main Character.
