Twisted Scraps

Twisted Scraps is a roaming Twisted who behaves similarly to her brother, Twisted Goob. She possesses a unique ranged attack in which she stretches her tail toward a distant player to strike them, inflicting one Heart of damage on contact. After each tail strike the ability enters a 15-second cooldown before it can be used again. Outside of this signature move she can also land a standard melee hit at close range, just like every other Twisted.

Mechanic

Her special ability allows her to attack a toon at range using her tail, dealing one heart's worth of damage. Has a cooldown of 15.

Appearance

Twisted Scraps maintains the general shape of her Toon counterpart but with several corrupted details. Her skin is noticeably more desaturated. The tips of her magenta ears are taller, sharper, and lightly coated in Ichor. She wears a wide, predatory grin that exposes rows of sharp teeth. Her eyes follow the standard Twisted color scheme with the addition of narrow vertical slits in each pupil, and her face carries a dark purplish blush. The edges of her dress have become jagged and pointed, her claws are sharper, and her paws bear traces of Ichor, though her talons remain clean. Her magenta cup is now cracked down the middle with both halves sharpened to resemble a reptilian jaw, and the whole cup is smeared with Ichor. When she spots a Toon, her eyes widen and her mouth opens in eager anticipation.

Description

Twisted Scraps is a roaming Twisted who behaves similarly to her brother, Twisted Goob. She possesses a unique ranged attack in which she stretches her tail toward a distant player to strike them, inflicting one Heart of damage on contact. After each tail strike the ability enters a 15-second cooldown before it can be used again. Outside of this signature move she can also land a standard melee hit at close range, just like every other Twisted.

Her ranged tail strike can be avoided in several ways. The simplest counter is breaking line of sight by ducking behind an island or any solid obstacle before the tail connects. Bobette's Precious Packaging ability will block the hit if activated with correct timing, and Cardboard Armor absorbs one attack per Floor, including the tail strike. Players controlling Soulvester are completely immune to the ability thanks to his Passive Ability, making him one of the strongest direct counters to Twisted Scraps.

Notably, Twisted Scraps does not pull players toward her or dash toward them during the attack, unlike Twisted Goob who reels targets in. Instead she simply deals damage at range and remains stationary while her tail extends. On her first encounter on any Floor she will always open with the ranged tail strike rather than a melee swing. This predictable opener gives alert players a brief window to reach cover before the first hit lands, provided they react quickly when she appears.

How to Deal With Twisted Scraps

Twisted Scraps shares the ranged attack archetype with Twisted Goob, but her version works differently. Rather than pulling you toward her or closing the distance herself, she extends her tail to strike you at range and then enters a 15-second cooldown. The key to dodging the tail strike is breaking line of sight the instant she winds up. Watch for the animation where she swings her tail to the side, then immediately duck behind the nearest island or solid obstacle. Because the tail travels in a straight line toward your position, even a small piece of cover is enough to block it. On her first encounter on any Floor she will always open with the ranged attack rather than a melee swing, so stay alert the moment she appears and have an escape route to cover already planned.

Cardboard Armor and Bobette both serve as reliable defensive counters. Cardboard Armor absorbs one hit per Floor, including the tail strike, which makes it a valuable safety net if you get caught in the open without cover nearby. Bobette's Precious Packaging ability can block the tail strike as well, but the timing must be precise because the activation window is narrow. If your team has a Bobette player, coordinate so that she saves her ability for moments when a teammate is caught without an obstacle to hide behind. Soulvester is the strongest direct counter of all because his Passive Ability makes him completely immune to Twisted Scraps' ranged attack. A Soulvester player can safely draw her aggro without any risk from the tail, freeing the rest of the team to work on Machines uninterrupted.

Her attack pattern mirrors Twisted Goob's closely enough that strategies for one apply well to the other. Take advantage of her lower attention span and slower speed to plan your distraction routes. If no designated distractor is available, you can stall her by baiting out her ranged ability and then slipping out of sight during the cooldown, much as you would with Twisted Goob. In a coordinated team, assign one player to orbit an island and keep her attention while the rest complete objectives. The distractor should periodically re-expose themselves to maintain aggro and prevent her from wandering toward teammates working on Machines.

Do not underestimate Twisted Scraps during Blackouts. Her tail can lash out with no visual warning in the dark, and the reduced visibility makes it far harder to spot her wind-up animation in time. If you know she is on the Floor and she spots you, immediately get behind an obstacle rather than trying to outrun the strike. Brightney and Vee are both strong picks for Blackout Floors because their abilities reveal Twisted positions, giving you crucial seconds of warning before the tail launches. Without one of those Toons on your team, move cautiously and stick close to cover at all times when navigating in the dark.

She is significantly more dangerous in wide open areas with minimal cover. Always keep the nearest obstacle in mind and sprint toward it the moment she locks on. Her above-average direct vision of 75 studs means she can spot you from farther away than most Twisteds, so exercise caution in areas where you need to work on Machines. Smoke Bomb does not counter her ranged attack once she has visual contact, and the same goes for Connie's Haunting Escape. However, if her tail strike is already on cooldown she will lose interest in you more quickly. On Floors where multiple Twisteds are active alongside Twisted Scraps, prioritize dealing with her first by baiting out the tail strike, then shift your attention to the other threats during her 15-second cooldown window.

If Twisted Scraps is lurking near the Elevator, try to recall whether she has already used her tail strike recently. If it is on cooldown, make a break for the Elevator while avoiding her melee range. If the tail strike is still available, bait it out first by drawing her aggro, hiding behind a nearby obstacle to force a missed attack, then dash for the Elevator during the cooldown window. Memorize her cooldown timing and when she last attacked, because spending too long outside the Elevator invites a hit. Her main weakness remains her low speed at only 16 chase. If you can consistently orbit an island and dodge her tail strikes, she becomes one of the more manageable Twisteds. Her lower attention span compared to Twisted Goob also works in your favor, so stay patient and let her lose interest rather than panicking into open ground.

Trivia

  • Twisted Scraps can attack Toons at range but cannot pull them toward her, while Twisted Goob can pull but cannot strike at distance. This parallels their Toon counterparts' ability design. Unlike her Toon counterpart, however, Twisted Scraps does not move toward Toons during her attack — she only deals damage.
  • She is among the first Twisteds with a ranged attack, alongside Twisted Goob, Twisted Razzle & Dazzle, and Twisted Rodger. Later ranged Twisteds include Twisted Sprout, Twisted Gigi, and Twisted Blot.
  • Among ranged Twisteds, only Twisted Scraps, Twisted Goob, and Twisted Gigi have attacks that can be blocked by Cardboard Armor. Only Twisted Scraps and Twisted Goob's attacks are additionally blocked by Soulvester's Passive Ability.
  • On her first encounter on any Floor, she will always lead with her ranged ability. The same behavior applies to Twisted Gigi and Twisted Goob.
  • Twisted Scraps, Twisted Gigi, and Twisted Goob share several traits — all are Rare Twisteds with ranged attacks that trigger on first encounter. None of their abilities can be denied by Smoke Bombs, Connie's Haunting Escape, or Blot's Blot Jr., but Bobette's Active Ability and Cardboard Armor can block them. If any of them target Blot Jr. first and attack it, their ability goes on cooldown.
  • Neither Smoke Bombs, Connie's Haunting Escape, nor Blot's Blot Jr. can prevent Twisted Scraps' tail strike from connecting. However, if Blot deploys Blot Jr. and Twisted Scraps targets it first, she will use her melee attack on it, which oddly triggers her tail attack cooldown. If she has already locked on to Blot before Blot Jr. is deployed, the tail strike still hits the player. Bobette's Active Ability bypasses all of these limitations.
  • She was the first Twisted to appear on the Daily Twisted Board, as shown in the Behind-the-Scenes channel on the official BlushCrunch Discord server on July 27.
  • Twisted Scraps and Twisted Goob share the smallest hearing range in the game at only 100 studs.
  • Excluding stationary Twisteds like Twisted Blot and Twisted Squirm, she has the slowest chase speed among Rare Twisteds at 16, tying with Twisted Coal on non-Blackout Floors and Twisted Goob. They also match Twisted Dandy, Twisted Dyle at minimum speed, and Twisted Soulvester.
  • She was among the last Twisteds to receive optimization, alongside Twisted Brightney and Twisted Goob. She and Twisted Goob were the final Rare Twisteds to be optimized.
  • Before her optimization, using Brightney or Vee's Active Abilities or Party Popper did not highlight her tail. The same issue affected Twisted Goob's arms and both of their Toon counterparts.
