ABOUT EGGSON

Appearance

Eggson is a halved brown hard-boiled egg, with the white and yolk clearly visible. He wears a small pair of round glasses with yellow lenses and sports a warm, gentle smile. His outfit consists of a pinstriped button-up shirt — orange and yellow around the torso, white on the sleeves, and yellow at the cuffs. He carries an orange cane with a yellow stripe, though in his Introduction Card, the cane appears brown without the stripe.

Personality

Eggson behaves like a kindly elderly figure. His mind frequently turns to eggs, as evidenced by numerous dialogue lines revolving around them — or sometimes just the word "eggs." As an elder, he possesses considerable wisdom and shares advice and brief anecdotes with Toons who seem to need some reassurance. Known as the former Egg Hunt Champion, Eggson has an enduring passion for egg hunting. He has even been caught begging Cosmo to let him remove the eggs from the fridge so he can hide them, despite being told "no."

STRATEGIES
Eggson is a well-rounded Toon who leans slightly toward the extractor role thanks to his ability, Fixer Upper, which instantly fills a Machine by 20% (9 units). While not a massive boost, this ability is not locked to the first Machine you encounter on a floor, so you can spread its benefit across multiple Machines. The effect also stacks when multiple Eggsons are present, which is especially handy in Eggson-only runs. A solid floor strategy is to visit every Machine you come across and use your ability on each one. If another Toon is already working on a Machine, you can ask to step in, activate the ability, and move on — though if a fast extractor is already there, stepping in might actually slow things down. Working on an unoccupied Machine by yourself is typically faster, uses less Stamina, and reduces your exposure to Twisteds. The best approach is usually to solo any open Machine while boosting nearby ones with your ability. Fixer Upper pairs well with slow extractors like Pebble, Shrimpo, Bassie, or Goob, significantly cutting down their completion times. Because of his ability, Eggson's average Machine completion time is a distinctive 25.71, since he only ever needs to fill 80% of a Machine (36 units). His balanced stats mean he has no glaring weaknesses or standout strengths. Supplement any shortcomings with appropriate Trinkets, and stay alert around faster Twisteds like Twisted Pebble, Twisted Toodles, and Twisted Shelly — your middling Stamina and Movement Speed can become a liability. If these speedier enemies give you trouble, a Trinket like Pink Bow can help offset the problem.
TRIVIA
  • Eggson is the only Easter Holiday Toon without any interactions with the Christmas or Halloween Holiday Toons.
  • He is the second Toon recognized as being outside the typical adult age range — he is older than all the others. The first and third Toons with specified non-adult ages are Toodles and Gourdy, who are children.
  • Eggson, Rudie, Poppy, Boxten, and Ribecca all share identical stat distributions (3 stars across the board).
  • One of his conversations with Flyte references the Egg Hunt and The Hunt events.
  • He is the second Toon to speak multiple consecutive lines in a single dialogue exchange, the first being Looey. This happens during his second dialogue with Rodger.
  • Eggson holds the record for one of the shortest descending dialogues, consisting of a single word: 'Eggs.'
  • Before version v0.17.1, his Passive Ability only filled 10% of a Machine, and it inexplicably did not work on Treadmill Machines — possibly because Treadmill Machines were introduced after Eggson's release.
  • Although he appears in the song Wilting, Eggson — along with Flyte — has no vocal lines.
  • He is the only Toon with a skin-exclusive custom idle animation: the Still Hip Skin replaces his usual glasses-adjusting animation with a skateboard spin.
