Introduction

This Toon is the one to call when there is a mystery afoot. Rodger is a clever detective who is always eager to solve whatever case may arise.

Description

Rodger the Magnifying Glass, also known as Rodger is one of the 27 playable Toons in Dandy's World, added on June 14th, 2024. He is available to be bought in Dandy's Store.

Appearance

Rodger is a brown magnifying glass with a single eye resting in the middle of his lens. His eye is perpetually squinted from above (perhaps in exhaustion, disdain, or focus). He has no visible mouth, yet he is still able to speak. His handle has a light purple-ish blue band that goes around it. He wears a gray, almost-black tuxedo jacket with dark blue lapels and cuffs, as well as a white undershirt, and a frilly jabot that is the same color as the band around his handle. He also seems to have no noticeable pants at the bottom. In his full icon, he carries a brown suitcase with him.

Personality

Rodger is a smart Toon who thinks rather logically. He often likes to interrogate other Toons about themselves. However, he can be somewhat nosy about it, like in his interactions with Astro and Sprout, saying "It may be safer, but uncovering truths is more rewarding!" and "How about later? I could ask you after this!" Still, he tries to look after the safety and well being of the other Toons.

STRATEGIES

Rodger's primary role revolves around gathering Research, with a secondary focus on Ichor. He is especially beneficial for new players due to his slow speed, which helps beginners learn stamina management. Additionally, his enhanced Research gain makes him ideal for those starting with minimal progress. This guide should emphasize that Rodger is particularly suited for inexperienced players.

Rodger's standout stat is his 4 ★ Extraction Speed, which allows him to complete Machines more quickly. However, his low Movement Speed can be a challenge, so using Speed Items becomes essential to navigate the Floor efficiently. It's advisable to save these items for crucial moments.

One of Rodger's key features is his Detective Passive, which doubles the Research rewards from Research Capsules and Twisteds. Normally, players receive 1% from Capsules and 5% from Twisteds, but with Rodger's Passive Ability, these numbers are increased to 2% and 10%, making him an excellent choice for quickly advancing Research on an incomplete Twisted.

That said, Rodger's lack of other abilities, similar to Boxten, makes him less effective if you're not focused on Research. If you don't need Research or already have all of it, Rodger might not be the ideal Toon for you. However, if maximizing Research is your priority, no Toon is more efficient than Rodger!

You can look through the glass in Rodger's head to see through Blackouts clearer like how you can with Gigi's plastic lid, as ROBLOX's rendering does not work very well with fog seen through transparent objects.
With Rodger's double Research bonus, it takes 8 encounters with a Twisted to get 100% Research on them.
Rodger's eye and lens will be layered on top of some effects (status boost, username, Ichor extraction liquid, etc.)
Rodger's Introduction Card used to say that he was a spyglass but was later corrected to say that he is a magnifying glass.
Rodger's name is likely either a reference to Roger Bacon, the creator of magnifying glass, or the saying "Roger that."
Rodger's lack of a mouth does not prevent him from talking.
Rodger is currently the only Toon who kneels down to extract.
Rodger's magnifying glass is not actually a circle, it is an octadecagon (an 18-sided shape).

Despite popular opinion, Toodles has not been confirmed to be Rodger's child, but Rodger is seen as a father figure by Toodles, as confirmed by Qwelver in a QNA Art Stream.
Qwel confirmed in the New Year QnA Stream that both Vee and Rodger don't have mouths and don't need to eat, but they can eat the in-game food items for gameplay purposes.
Rodger is one of the three Toons whose skin was designed by someone else other than the developers, with the others being Looey and Goob. In Rodger's case, it's his Ebony Detective skin.
Despite popular belief caused by a rumor, no, Rodger does not lower main chances when in a round.
