Dandy's World Ichor Guide

Ichor is the main currency in Dandy's World. Players spend it to purchase Toons, Trinkets, Toon Skins, Stickers, and Items from the pre-game shop. It is also central to the game's lore as the substance that causes Toons to transform into Twisteds.

Earning Ichor

Ichor is earned through several in-game methods. Completing Floors and encountering Twisteds grants Ichor on death based on how far the player survived: on Floor 15 or lower, 5 Ichor per survived floor and 1 Ichor per encountered Twisted; on Floor 16 and above these increase to 6 and 1.25 respectively (rounded to nearest whole number). Twisted encounters only register the first time a Twisted spots a player on a given floor.

Filling Machines grants 5 Ichor. If more than one player worked on a Machine, each gets 1 Ichor for each 20% they contributed, rounding up. Collecting Research Capsules grants 2 Ichor per capsule, and using a Toon's Active or Toggle Ability grants 5 Ichor once per Floor. Ichor can also be purchased with Robux: 75 Robux for 300 Ichor, 375 Robux for 1500 Ichor, 750 Robux for 3150 Ichor, and 1250 Robux for 5500 Ichor.

Ichor Uses

Ichor is spent in Dandy's Store to buy Toons, Trinkets, Toon Skins, and Stickers. Most Event Skins and Stickers use their event's own currency instead of Ichor, though some Skins may require Ichor alongside event currency. Toons require certain Ichor amounts plus sometimes extra requirements such as Research, Machines completed, or Floors survived. Non-Main Event Toons do not require Ichor.

Like Toons, Trinkets also require Ichor and sometimes an additional requirement. Ichor can also be spent in the pre-game shop to buy a Bandage, Health Kit, or Valve before a run starts.

Notable Costs and Unlock Order

Astro is the most expensive Toon in Dandy's Store and the most expensive Main overall. Shrimpo is the cheapest regular Toon at 100 Ichor. Event Main Characters cost 2500 Ichor. Blot and Squirm are the most expensive non-Main Toons at 3000 Ichor each — though Blot's total unlock cost is higher still, since he requires Looey's and Yatta's Mastery, which themselves have prerequisites.

Poppy, Boxten, Shrimpo, Razzle & Dazzle, and Tisha are the only playable Toons purchasable with Ichor and no other requirements. Non-Main Event and Lethal Toons are the only Toons that do not cost Ichor at all.

Lore

In lore, Ichor is the substance that causes Toons to transform into Twisteds, though the exact method is unknown. Getting covered in Ichor is likely not a trigger on its own — Twisted Finn douses Toons in Ichor during extraction without infecting them, and during Ichor Leaks Toons suffer debuffs rather than transforming. One confirmed method is intense physical trauma, as seen with Bobette in "The Perfect Christmas". Intense mental trauma or loss of sanity is another confirmed cause, as with Gourdy and Bassie.

In Greek mythology, Ichor is the golden blood of the gods, deadly to mortals. Dandy's World depicts it as black. In-game, some Twisteds leak Ichor from wounds or their eyes, and Toons burst into Ichor upon death, suggesting Ichor functions as the Toons' blood. The game files refer to Ichor as "Coins". Twisted Dandy's description hints he runs the Ichor Operation, though whether creating Twisteds was his intention is unconfirmed.

Trivia

Several notable Ichor facts from the Fandom wiki.

  • Ichor is referred to as 'Coins' in the game files.
  • In the 12/5/2024 stream it was confirmed that liquid-state Ichor feels like slime, and solid-state Ichor feels like gelatin.
  • Ichor is likely the power source for the Elevator, as it only opens after a certain number of Machines are finished.
  • The lower you go, the more Machines spawn, meaning more Ichor must be collected to go deeper.
  • There is a possibility that Ichor is sentient, as it writhes and convulses when forming puddles during Ichor Leaks.
