Appearance
Research Map appears to be a treasure map. Red lines and two red X's are drawn on the map, along with Ichor covering the left corners. The map also appears to have cut-off pieces of paper with lines drawn on the left, right, and top parts. A white bookmark sits in the top-right corner, next to two black lines.
Strategies
Research Map is particularly useful for Rodger and Looey, as their Mastery quests require collecting 125 Research Capsules. Coal and Pebble's Abilities work as alternatives for finding capsules, though Research Map highlights more often than those options.
Because it only costs 200 Ichor, Research Map is a strong early-game choice for newer players who want more Ichor and Research to unlock Toons and additional Trinkets. If you already have full Research on every Twisted, this Trinket offers little value.
Research Map will not highlight Twisted Rodger's fake capsules, which gives it a secondary use: any unlit capsule while wearing this Trinket is confirmed to be Twisted Rodger's fake. This is a quick way to alert teammates to his location.
Research Map synergizes strongly with Rodger's Passive, which doubles Research gained from capsules. Pairing it with an extraction-focused Trinket such as Vee's Remote or Magnifying Glass lets Rodger grind Research and Ichor efficiently across floors. The Trinket also helps in high-graphics settings where shadows can obscure capsules in corners.
