Description

Party Popper is an Other-category trinket tied to Twisted Yatta research. Its effect activates the moment the player begins extracting from a Machine — any Twisted within the nearby radius at that instant becomes highlighted through walls for 5 seconds. The highlight window gives extractors time to decide whether to continue or abandon the machine before a chase can begin. The effect applies only at the moment extraction starts, not during ongoing extraction, so it is a snapshot of nearby Twisted positions rather than a continuous tracker.

Party Popper is a safety trinket for extractors. The 5-second highlight at machine start tells the player whether a Twisted is already close before committing to extraction. Players can immediately walk off the machine and reposition if a Twisted is nearby, or continue with confidence if the area is clear. Unlike most base-game trinkets, Party Popper does not directly affect a stat — it provides information instead, making it a playstyle-dependent choice.

The effect can be refreshed by stepping on and off the Machine repeatedly, essentially turning it into a manual scanner that lets you continuously check nearby Twisted positions. Low-Stamina Toons like Yatta and Gigi cannot afford surprise chases, making the advance warning especially valuable. Slow Toons like Connie and Soulvester also benefit because they need extra lead time to create distance if a Twisted is close.

Rodger is another strong user — the highlight can help locate a specific Twisted for Research purposes, turning a safety tool into a scouting tool. Any Toon working toward Masteries that require encountering Twisteds can similarly use Party Popper to seek out targets rather than avoid them.

Party Popper is not recommended for dedicated distractors, as they spend most of their time kiting Twisteds rather than extracting from Machines, so the on-machine trigger rarely activates.

Best Pairings and When to Skip It

You can also use Party Popper to help teammates by hopping onto a machine near the center of the map and checking if anyone nearby is being chased. This makes it a useful support tool for backup distractors trying to locate loose Twisteds through walls.

There are several situations where Party Popper loses value. If Twisteds are already being distracted, the scan is redundant unless you specifically want to track the distractor's position. If your team has a Vee or a Brightney during Blackouts, their Active Abilities already provide Twisted highlighting that functionally replaces Party Popper. The trinket also loses usefulness on wide maps with good sightlines, when you have already spotted the Twisteds en route to the machine, or when neutral Twisteds are present — notably Twisted Blot's hand traps will not appear on the scan, even though Twisted Blot himself will. If your lobby is failing Machines more than chases, an extraction-focused trinket will usually return more value than Party Popper's information advantage.
