The end of the yarn ball is a purple string sticking out wavily on the right side, alongside a white needle resembling a bone. The overall design ties directly into Ribecca's crafting and sewing motif, making it one of the more thematically consistent Twisted Trinkets in the game.

Strategies

Bone Needle and Thread is only useful during the Halloween Event, as its sole function is highlighting Pumpkins in your vicinity every 10 seconds. Outside the event, Pumpkins do not spawn and the Trinket has zero effect, making it a completely dead slot during non-Halloween periods. During the event, however, it can save a noticeable amount of time by revealing Pumpkins you might otherwise walk past, especially on larger maps where Pumpkins blend into the environment.

This Trinket is strongest on high-mobility Toons that spend most of their time roaming rather than extracting. Toons like Pebble, Looey, or Brightney can cover large sections of a map quickly, and the 10-second highlight pulse lets them sweep for Pumpkins efficiently between Machine runs. If your Toon has poor extractability and you find yourself wandering anyway, equipping Bone Needle and Thread turns that downtime into productive Pumpkin collection.

Gourdy's Store offers significantly more purchasable items compared to other Event shops, which means you need a higher total Pumpkin count to buy everything. If your goal is to clear the entire store, the cumulative time saved by Bone Needle and Thread across a full session of farming adds up. For players who only want a few items, the Trinket slot may be better used on a survival or extraction Trinket instead.

Skip this Trinket if you are running a dedicated extractor role and rarely leave Machine areas, since the highlight pulse will mostly reveal Pumpkins you would have found anyway. It is also not worth equipping on short or compact maps where Pumpkins are already easy to spot visually.

Best Users and When to Skip

The best users of Bone Needle and Thread are fast-moving distractors and roamers who cover a lot of ground during the Halloween Event. Pebble and Looey stand out because their high Movement Speed lets them sweep entire map sections between highlight pulses, turning the 10-second interval into consistent Pumpkin pickups. Brightney and other mobile Toons also benefit for the same reason.

Slower Toons like Shrimpo, Connie, or Soulvester gain very little from this Trinket because they cannot cover enough ground between pulses to make the highlighting meaningful. For these Toons, a general-purpose survival or extraction Trinket will return more value even during the Halloween Event. The same applies to any Toon running a dedicated extractor build — if you are spending most of your time at Machines, the highlight pulse is largely wasted.
