Appearance
The Egg Radar is shaped like a mixture between a device and a boiled egg that has been bisected, coloured after Eggson. The front is meant to resemble its inside. There is a radiating semi-circle on the top (the screen/yolk portion), which is orange with yellow lines, seemingly acting like the radar itself. Below are two light yellow square buttons with black lines beside them. There is also what seems to be an antenna on the top with an orange lightbulb on the end, resembling a candle. The overall design blends Eggson's egg motif with a handheld gadget aesthetic, making it one of the more visually distinctive Holiday Trinkets in the game.
Strategies
While Egg Radar may be helpful if you wish to farm for Baskets — the currency used for buying Bassie's Shop items — it will mainly help on big Floors considering that only two Baskets spawn per Floor. On smaller Floors, spawned Baskets are usually visible without any detection help, which makes the Trinket slot essentially wasted.
However, much like the Festive Lights and Bone Needle and Thread Trinkets, both Pebble and Coal can be great alternatives to finding Baskets considering their Abilities help you better. Their detection kits work passively alongside other useful effects, so you never sacrifice a Trinket slot just for Basket spotting. The same logic applies to Trinkets commonly used in group runs: each Machine gives the same amount of Baskets, and you can instantly claim any Baskets you spot, so completing more Machines through speed or extraction Trinkets will often increase your total Basket yield while providing additional bonuses. Speed Trinkets help you get more Machine and Twisted Baskets and make up for any losses from missing the two spawned ones.
Since the Egg Radar is useless on a Floor if you could have found the spawned Baskets yourself, try to avoid using it unless the Floor layout is genuinely large and maze-like. You may also have someone with the Egg Radar equipped to lead the group to the Baskets when you are in a multiplayer run, freeing everyone else to run a stronger Trinket. Other than that, the Egg Radar serves no purpose outside the Easter Event.
Best Alternatives and When to Skip
Egg Radar occupies an unusual niche because it only matters during the Easter Event and only on Floors where Baskets are hard to locate. In practice, most experienced players skip it entirely. Pebble's and Coal's passive Abilities already cover Basket detection without costing a Trinket slot, and pairing a speed Trinket like Dog Plush or Speedy Shoes with a strong extraction tool will net you more total Baskets per run than Egg Radar ever could.
If you are solo and genuinely struggling to find spawned Baskets on large Floors, Egg Radar can save a few seconds per Floor. But in coordinated multiplayer lobbies, a single player equipping Egg Radar while others run optimal builds is the most efficient compromise. Skip it entirely if your lobby already has a Pebble or Coal player, or if the Floor sizes in your current run are small enough that visual scanning is sufficient.
Trivia
Egg Radar is the second in a series of event-only Trinkets and carries several notable details about its release and design.
- This is the second Trinket only useful during its respective Event, with the first being Festive Lights, and the third being Bone Needle and Thread.
- All three event-only Trinkets are achieved by getting 100% Research on their respective Event's Common Twisted.
- Egg Radar was added on April 18, 2025, alongside Glazed Fondant Bag, Scrapbook, and Whispering Flower as part of the Easter Event content drop.
- Its design directly references Eggson's colour palette, with the radar screen doubling as a stylized egg yolk and the antenna tip resembling a candle.
- The 10-second highlight interval means Egg Radar pulses roughly six times per minute, giving periodic rather than continuous detection coverage.
FAQ
How do you get Egg Radar in Dandy's World?
Egg Radar is obtained by achieving 100% Research on Twisted Eggson. It is a limited Holiday Trinket available during the Easter Event, added on April 18, 2025. You will need to encounter Twisted Eggson across multiple runs and complete all Research capsules to unlock it.
Is Egg Radar worth using during the Easter Event?
Egg Radar is situationally useful on large Floors where Baskets are hard to spot, but most players find better value from speed or extraction Trinkets. Toons like Pebble and Coal already have detection Abilities that cover Basket finding without using a Trinket slot. Only two Baskets spawn per Floor, so the advantage is small compared to completing more Machines with a stronger loadout.
Can Egg Radar be used outside the Easter Event?
No. Egg Radar highlights Baskets, which only appear during the Easter Event. Outside of the event, equipping Egg Radar has no effect, making it a purely seasonal Trinket with no year-round utility.
