Dandy's World Abilities Guide

Abilities are effects unique to each Toon in Dandy's World, separated into three categories: Active, Toggle, and Passive. Active Abilities require direct player input and have cooldowns. Passive Abilities activate without input and have no cooldowns. Toggle Abilities are player-activated but remain active until cancelled.

Ability Types

Active Abilities only provide effects when directly activated by the player. They have cooldowns with the exception of Bassie, and cannot be activated in the Elevator between Floors. Using an Active Ability for the first time on a Floor grants 5 Ichor and 3 Tapes.

Passive Abilities activate without direct player input. They have no cooldowns and can activate between Floors if circumstances allow it.

Toggle Abilities are directly activated like Actives, but the effects continue until the player presses the Ability button again. They have shorter cooldowns than Active Abilities but cannot be spammed. Cooldown reduction Cards like Practice do not affect Toggle Abilities. Like Actives, activating them for the first time in a Floor grants 5 Ichor and 3 Tapes.

Main Toons are granted 2 Abilities: one Passive and one Active.

Each Toon has a unique Ability that defines their role in a run. The following table lists every current Toon Ability.

Bobette Precious Packaging Active Hides in a gift box for 8 seconds — invincible but immobile. Cooldown: 90.
Bobette Festive Aura Passive Gives nearby Toons 50% faster Stamina regen and a 25% speed boost for 5 seconds.
Boxten Wind-up Passive Gains 6% more Extraction Speed per alive Toon. Max 48%.
Brightney Night Light Active Shines light on Twisteds to make them visible during Blackouts for 8 seconds. Cooldown: 45.
Brusha Artistic Inspiration Toggle Enters Painting Mode giving nearby Toons a 50% Skill Check boost. Moves 25% slower. Cooldown: 5.
Coal Scout Active Sniffs out items across the map, highlighting them for all Toons for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 30.
Cocoa Bonbon Active Places a BonBon candy item granting +50% Extraction Speed and +25% Movement Speed for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 40.
Connie Haunting Escape Active Becomes invisible for 5 seconds — Twisteds cannot notice her except Lethals. Cooldown: 50.
Cosmo Sharing is Caring Active Gives one of his own Hearts to heal a targeted Toon. Cannot use at 1 Heart. Cooldown: 60.
Eclipse Total Eclipse Passive Transforms in Blackouts: gains 2 Stamina Stars (60% multiplier) and 20% Movement Speed boost.
Eggson Fixer Upper Passive Hits a Machine with his cane on first extraction, granting 20% completion. Once per Machine.
Finn Reel in Passive Gains 33% Movement Speed boost when any Machine is completed, for 10 seconds.
Flutter Floaty Dash Active Dashes forward, drastically increasing Movement Speed for 0.75 seconds. Cooldown: 45.
Flyte Gust Active Places a Gust at location for 10 seconds giving +15% Movement Speed for 5 seconds to Toons who walk through it. Cooldown: 50.
Gigi Surprise! Active Grants herself a random item from any tier (Dandy's Shop items included). Cooldown: 80.
Ginger Baked with Care! Active Heals a targeted Toon to full Hearts at cost of 100 Tapes. Each extra Ginger adds 50 Tapes and 30 seconds cooldown. Cooldown: 100.
Glisten Reflection Active Teleports through a mirror to a targeted Toon regardless of line of sight. Cooldown: 100.
Goob Hug! Active Pulls other Toons towards his position. Requires direct line of sight. Cooldown: 30.
Gourdy Trick or Treat Active Applies a random 20% stat boost (not Stealth) to all nearby Toons for 15 seconds. Cooldown: 35.
Gourdy Sugar Rush Passive Gives all players 20% speed boost for 5 seconds when the Elevator opens and when Panic Mode begins.
Looey Heart of Helium Passive Gains 20% more walk and run speed per missing heart. At 1 heart gains 40% speed multiplier.
Pebble Speak! Active Barks loudly, drastically decreasing Stealth and alerting nearby Twisteds to his location. Cooldown: 60.
Pebble Fetch! Passive Sniffs out items, highlighting them when in the Toon's vicinity.
Poppy Panic Pop Passive Receives a 50% Speed boost for 3 seconds when attacked.
Razzle & Dazzle Comedy/Tragedy Passive Swaps between Movement Speed bonus on odd-numbered Floors and Extraction Speed on even-numbered Floors.
Ribecca The Undead Passive Immune to all applied debuffs (does not include trinkets).
Rodger Detective Passive Gains twice the amount of Research from Capsules and Twisted encounters.
Rudie Antler Charge Active Charges forward in a short burst using antlers to escape tricky situations. Cooldown: 23.
Scraps Crafty Grapple Active Pulls herself towards another Toon or Machine's targeted position. Requires line of sight. Cooldown: 25.
Shelly Inspiration Active Boosts the Extraction Speed of a selected Toon by 75% for 15 seconds. Cooldown: 60.
Shelly Problem Solver Passive Gains 25% Movement Speed boost when any Machine is completed for 10 seconds.
Shrimpo Bully Passive Stealth is drastically lower than any other Toon. Only play this Toon if you are looking for a challenge.
Soulvester Knightly Armor Passive Has an extra heart and is immune to damage from ranged attacks.
Sprout Baked Sweets Active Heals a targeted Toon by 1 Heart at cost of 100 Tapes. Cooldown scales with number of healers. Cooldown: 100.
Sprout Overprotective Passive Can see where all other alive Toons are, along with their current Health status.
Squirm Distressed Delicacy Active Hold to eat books, gaining 100% Extraction Speed for 10 seconds. Proximity to bookshelf recovers cooldown twice as fast. Cooldown: 80.
Teagan Tea Time Active Spends 75 Tapes to heal themself by 1 heart. Cooldown: 100.
Tisha Tidy Up! Active Creates a pulse that increases Movement Speed of nearby Toons by 25% for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 50.
Toodles Beginner's Luck Active Rolls for a 15% boost to a random Stat lasting 10 seconds. Cooldown: 25.
Vee Mic Check Active Highlights all Twisteds and Machines on the Floor for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 50.
Vee Camera Hijack Passive Has the 2 nearest uncompleted Machines highlighted for them.
Yatta Pinata Party Passive Drops 2 random candy Items after completing a machine, and 4 random candy items when injured.

Trinkets and Cards That Interact with Abilities

Several Trinkets and Cards modify how Abilities behave during a run.

Trinkets that interact with Abilities: - Sweet Charm reduces the cooldown of the equipper's Active Ability by 8%. - Ghost Snakes In A Can reduces the cooldown of the equipper's Active Ability by 5 seconds. - Peppermint Icing grants 30 Stamina to the equipper whenever they use an Active Ability. - Toy Kit increases the radius of a Toon's ring-based Ability by 25%.

Cards that interact with Abilities: - Rehearsal and Practice both reduce the cooldown of Active Abilities by 5 seconds. Note: these do not affect Toggle Abilities.

Strategies

Toons with support-based Abilities should save them to assist teammates or use them in dire situations, such as boosting a slow teammate being chased by a fast Twisted. If your Toon has a long cooldown, avoid wasting the Ability when a teammate does not need it.

For Abilities with an effect radius (Astro's Active, Bobette's Passive, Brusha, Flyte, Gourdy's Active, and Tisha), position yourself to maximize coverage. Brusha and Bobette's Aura Abilities continue providing effects even while extracting, so they can boost a teammate on a Duo Machine.

Toons with survival-based Abilities should use them when in danger, usually as a last resort. Toons with short cooldowns like Rudie (23 seconds) don't need to hold their Ability for emergencies only, since it will recover quickly.

Brightney and Vee's Abilities reveal Twisted locations — use them frequently, especially on dangerous Floors with Blackouts or high-speed Twisteds active.

Trivia

During development, Abilities were going to use the Z key instead of the F key.

Dandy and Dyle are the only Main Toons who do not have an Active Ability. Their Passive Abilities are almost identical, differing only in name.

Bassie is the first Toon to have an Active Ability with no cooldown. Although her Ability functions like a Toggle, it is labeled as Active, likely because Toggles were not a concept during the 2025 Easter Event when she was added.

Brusha's Artistic Inspiration has the most Ability modifications of any Toon, with 4 changes across updates.
