Appearance
This trinket appears as a pumpkin locket, in the shape of a heart, along with a black string that is worn on the neck. In the inside, Gourdy can be seen with his parents, with the latter two faces being smeared with Ichor that drips down the locket. While said Ichor covers most of Gourdy's parents' appearances, it reveals that Mr. Holloway seems to be a darker shade of orange than Gourdy while Ms. Holloway appears much paler. Additionally, Ms. Holloway has her purple bandana around her neck. Both figures also seem to have hands/paws that resemble Gourdy's, though Ms. Holloway's claws are darker.
Strategies
This Trinket has the potential to benefit any Toon, but is especially useful to Toons such as Cosmo, whose Ability requires them to lose a Heart, or Bassie, who can distribute healing Items to those in need. Soulvester is also a decent candidate, since he could technically lose 1 Heart and still retain an average amount of Hearts while being able to locate heals for himself and teammates.
Since Looey already gains a speed boost from lacking Hearts, this Trinket can allow him to reap even more benefits. While distracting, they can easily beeline to a healing Item, reducing the risk involved with distracting as a damaged Looey. You could also call out where you see any healing Item if you don't need any or have a full inventory.
Memory Locket isn't recommended to be used on Coal or Pebble since their Abilities defeat the purpose of this Trinket. Outside of its niche with Cosmo, and to a lesser extent, Bassie or Looey, Memory Locket is very situational. For it to have an impact, a floor heal must spawn, the user must not be at full health, the heal must not have been found normally, and attention must be paid to a potentially very small graphic. Memory Locket highlights Items in light green.
Best Users and What It Actually Solves
Memory Locket is best on Toons that expect to play around missing health instead of treating it as an accident. Cosmo is the clearest example because he intentionally spends Hearts. Looey and Bassie also get practical value because one wants safer damaged-state routing and the other can convert heal knowledge into team support.
The trinket's job is information, not raw stat power. If the main risk in your runs is dying before you can find sustain, Memory Locket can solve a real problem. If the main risk is simply getting chased too often, this trinket will usually feel too indirect.
When to Use It and When It Is Too Narrow
Use Memory Locket when you have a specific health-management plan, especially on event floors or research runs where healing pathing matters and one found heal can stabilize the whole run. It can also work as a support-information tool if your team actually communicates item locations.
Skip it on Toons that should not be taking chip damage in the first place or already have better ways to manage health and tempo. Coal, Pebble, and many standard machine-focused builds usually want something more proactive than a situational floor-highlight effect.
Trivia
Memory Locket has notable merchandise and mechanic trivia.
- If you buy the Gourdy Plush merchandise, you will have a plush accessory of this Trinket, which has a magnet that can be connected to the plush's hands. This makes Memory Locket the first Trinket to get a real-life plush version.
- When spectating, Memory Locket still highlights Items for you.
- Memory Locket highlights Items in light green.
- Star Pillow is the second Trinket to get a plush version, with Memory Locket being the first.
FAQ
How do you get Memory Locket in Dandy's World?
Memory Locket is obtained by achieving 100% Research on Twisted Gourdy. It was added on October 10, 2025, as part of the Halloween Event, alongside Bone Needle and Thread, Moon Pack Heirloom, and Soul Sword.
What does Memory Locket do in Dandy's World?
When the user is not at full health, Memory Locket highlights all healing items on the Floor in light green until the user is healed. It is most useful on Cosmo (who intentionally loses Hearts with his Ability), Bassie (who distributes heals to teammates), and Looey (who benefits from lacking Hearts).
Is Memory Locket worth using outside event runs?
Only when your Toon or team actually plays around missing health and healing routes. Outside of those cases, more direct movement, stamina, or extraction trinkets usually return more value.
