Crayon Set Trinket Guide

Appearance

The icon appears as a yellow crayon box with a red and blue crayon inside with a pink crayon beside the box, each one with two black stripes around the top and bottom with an unreadable white label. On the box, orange squiggle lines are seen while in the middle has a white heart with the text "Crayon" underlined and written in black.

Strategies

Crayon Set can produce the following Items: Speed Candies, Protein Bars, Instructions, Extraction Speed Candies, and Skill Check Candies.

Since using Items gives Tapes, this Trinket can be used to gain a small amount of extra Tapes every Floor. Note that this relies on at least 1 inventory slot being open, and Uncommon Items only give 3 Tapes per use.

Due to 3/5 Items in the pool being extraction-based, its usage on Extractors like Glisten, Vee, or Yatta is more viable than on distractors. Toons with below average mobility but high extraction like Vee or Soulvester may make better use of this Trinket since 2/5 of the items are mobility based (Protein Bars and Speed Candies).

Bassie can use this Trinket to distribute each Item to those who would benefit from them most, minimizing the downside of seeking space for unneeded Items. Toons with 3-star in all their stats (Boxten, Eggson, Poppy, Ribecca, and Rudie) could also make use out of any Items given by this Trinket.

This Trinket could be paired well with Glazed Fondant Bag, due to it being able to give you three possible candy Items each Floor. As Items are somewhat easy to come by and inventory space is limited, Crayon Set is not that useful overall.

Trivia

Crayon Set has changed significantly since its original release.

• When first released as a Trinket, Crayon Set only gave one Item at the beginning of a run. After v0.2, it was changed to three Items. As of the current update, the Crayon Set now gives one Uncommon Item before every Floor.
• Stealth Candy used to be included in this Item pool, but was removed in v0.7.1 as its rarity was downgraded to Common.
• Crayon Set is currently the most reliable way to get Instructions as any Toon without the use of Dandy's Shop.
• Crayon Set is the first Trinket to directly give Items to its user, with the second being Pop Pack, the third being Fishing Rod, and the fourth being Megaphone.
