Twisted Gourdy

Twisted Gourdy announces his presence with a single spoken line when Toons enter a Floor at level 5 or higher, and he is guaranteed to spawn on Floor 20. Like Twisted Glisten, he displays a rage meter above his head, but his meter functions in reverse — it fills over time and must be drained by gifting him Items. The bar provides visual warnings as it fills, turning red at 75% capacity and flickering ominously at 90%. Once the meter reaches full capacity, Twisted Gourdy enrages permanently, gaining a massive speed boost and becoming hostile for the remainder of the Floor while dealing 1 Heart of damage per hit.

Mechanic

Has a meter which fully depletes when a Toon gifts him items. When the meter is full, Twisted Gourdy will enrage and gain a huge speed boost. Upon panic mode, he enrages instantly. Once the meter is full, there is no way to get it back down to passive. The stats shown below are for when he is enraged.

Appearance

In his passive state, Twisted Gourdy looks nearly identical to his Toon counterpart, retaining the same pumpkin-like silhouette and cheerful features. The key differences are subtle but unsettling: small red pupils sit within his otherwise white irises, streams of Ichor flow down his face like tears, and a small splotch of Ichor marks the top of his head. He also sports more leaves on his head than his normal Toon form, and his lower body appears to be partially submerged in a puddle of Ichor that is actually part of his model. When Twisted Gourdy enrages, his transformation is dramatic and terrifying. He erupts from the ground into a centaur-like beast reminiscent of Twisted Shelly, with the upper half of his chest darkening to a deeper shade of orange while his stomach and six legs — three on each side — become completely engulfed in Ichor. His once-friendly smile is replaced by a deep frown, and his white pupils shift to a menacing glowing red. When he spots a Toon during his enraged state, his expression changes further to one of visible anguish, closely resembling his Toon counterpart's hurt face but with dramatically smaller pupils that convey a sense of torment.

Description

Unlike Twisted Glisten, who actively roams the map in search of Toons, Twisted Gourdy remains completely stationary while passive, making him the first and only Main Character Twisted with this behavior. His enraged chase speed of 26 surpasses both Twisted Glisten and Twisted Pebble, nearly matching 4 Star Run Speed. During Panic Mode, his speed escalates to 32.5, making him the fastest Twisted in the game when excluding Twisted Dyle's variable maximum speed. The meter fill rate scales dynamically based on the number of living players when the Floor begins, providing a natural balancing mechanism.

In his passive state, Twisted Gourdy displays a surprisingly emotional personality. He pleads for someone to comfort him, appears deeply grateful whenever a player gifts him an Item as though desperate for anything to hold onto, and seems genuinely afraid that people will forget about him. Some of his dialogue lines when enraging call out to his parents, reflecting his Toon counterpart's longing for his family. Even some of his Panic Mode dialogue suggests he still yearns for companionship, adding a layer of tragedy to his otherwise threatening presence.

How to Deal With Twisted Gourdy

Twisted Gourdy operates on a similar principle to Twisted Glisten — players must manage a meter to prevent him from becoming hostile. His bar increases more slowly than Glisten's and he remains stationary until angered, but satisfying his demands can be costly depending on your inventory. Gigi and Cocoa are the only Toons capable of permanently sustaining his passivity through consistent Item generation and feeding, though he still needs to be checked on regularly to ensure the meter does not creep too high.

Players must gift Gourdy Items to keep him passive. His meter resets completely whenever any Item is given to him, regardless of that Item's value or rarity. Much like Twisted Glisten, once his meter fills entirely, there is absolutely no way to revert him back to his passive state — the enrage is permanent for the rest of the Floor. Panic Mode also triggers an instant enrage regardless of how full the meter is at that moment. Before completing the final Machine, ensure that all teammates have moved a safe distance away from him, especially slower Toons who would struggle to outrun his enraged form.

Gourdy always takes the Item occupying your first available inventory slot. With proper inventory arrangement, valuable Items like Bandages or Health Kits should remain safe in your second or third slots. Twisted Gigi also steals Items in slot order, so consistently arranging your inventory with disposable Items in the first slot is good practice across both encounters. Playing as Bassie is particularly advantageous here, as her Active Ability allows her to drop and rearrange inventory freely, ensuring valuable gear is never accidentally sacrificed.

The game balances Twisted Gourdy by scaling his meter fill rate to the number of living players when the Floor begins. With only one player remaining, it takes approximately 3 minutes for his bar to fill without intervention. However, if 4 out of 5 players die on his Floor, the sole survivor has only about 106 seconds (slightly over 1 minute and 45 seconds) before he enrages — a significantly tighter window that demands careful item management.

Tips:

*Since every Item drains his bar equally, wait for the bar to build up somewhat before offering one. Waiting too long risks triggering aggro, so monitor him carefully and watch for his 50% warning dialogue that signals you should feed him soon. *Communicate to teammates when you are on the last Machine, especially if you have the GTE Sticker, or stay clear of Gourdy if you are not the one extracting. A poorly timed Machine completion can doom teammates who are still near him. *If you anticipate him enraging while you are nearby, always position yourself beside an island so you can begin looping immediately when he spots you. Having a speed Item ready is strongly advisable given his extremely high Run Speed.

Recommended Toons to accompany Twisted Gourdy: *Bassie: Her 4 inventory slots can stockpile disposable Items for feeding, and her Active Ability allows inventory drops and rearrangement to protect valuable gear. Her high mobility ensures a safe escape once he enrages, complemented by strong Stamina and Stealth. *Blot: If Gourdy enrages, Blot Jr. stuns him and buys teammates escape time. His high speed and Stamina facilitate personal escape. *Brightney: Her Ability locates Gourdy and dangerous Twisteds, helping lost teammates return to feed him while avoiding threats. Her Ability is Blackout-only, but her solid Extraction speeds up Floors and her 1 Star Stealth can redirect danger from vulnerable teammates, though it equally draws unwanted attention in solo scenarios. *Bobette (situational): Her Active Ability provides temporary safety from enraged Gourdy. However, her stationary state during the Ability leaves her vulnerable afterward. Her good mobility aids escapes, and her Passive helps teammates flee, with her 2 Star Stealth useful for drawing Gourdy away. She needs her Ability ready, a speed Trinket, or a nearby island for effective getaways. *Coal: Her Scout Ability highlights all Items on the Floor, helping teammates locate feeding material. Her 4 Star Movement Speed and Stamina aid escape if he enrages. *Connie (situational): Like Bobette, her invisibility provides temporary protection. Her low speed makes reaching the Elevator difficult with Twisteds nearby. High Stealth partially compensates but offers limited help. *Cocoa: Her BonBon Ability generates Items for feeding Gourdy and provides Movement Speed and Extraction Speed buffs that accelerate Floor progress and improve escape odds. *Finn (situational): If positioned near Gourdy with the last Machine or far from the Elevator, his speed-boosting Passive can get him to safety. Low Stamina remains a concern. *Gigi (situational): Her Active Ability produces random Items for feeding, though she risks generating something valuable that must be sacrificed. Her 1 Star Stamina makes escaping enraged Gourdy difficult. *Pebble: His Passive highlights nearby Items (visible only to him, but he can lead teammates to them). His high mobility Stats enable escape and even Gourdy distraction. *Shelly (situational): Her speed boost from Machine completion aids escape, though it is weaker than Finn's Reel In Passive. Low Stamina is problematic when fleeing. *Vee (situational): Her Ability locates all Twisteds for safer navigation and shows Machine locations to accelerate progress. Her poor mobility and low Stealth create risk when Gourdy enrages. *Yatta: Her Passive generates Items needed to sustain Gourdy, so consider letting her finish Machines and distributing her Items for feeding. She can sustain herself against enraged Gourdy with Boxes o' Chocolates (RNG-dependent) and escape with 4 Star Movement Speed, though her 1 Star Stamina and 2 Star Stealth require careful play.

When Twisted Gourdy enrages, extreme caution is paramount, particularly during Blackouts. His speed exceeds Twisted Pebble's, and his 9999 hearing radius makes failed Skill Checks essentially fatal. For distraction, loop him around medium-sized islands using the same technique applied to Twisted Pebble — maintain aggro and distance by letting him spot you at each turn. Island size matters: too large lets him gain ground (especially with few sharp corners) or causes problems with slower co-distracted Twisteds losing aggro, while too small increases the risk of him reversing direction. His large hitbox slows him through obstacle collisions, but caution is still necessary given his high speed.

Trivia

  • He is the second Twisted with dialogue and the ability to speak, following Twisted Glisten. Along with Glisten, he is one of the few Twisteds to display personality through spoken lines.
  • He is the third Twisted with a bar above his head, after Twisted Glisten and Twisted Dyle. His bar takes the longest to fill completely.
  • Twisted Gourdy is the first and currently only Main Character Twisted that remains stationary.
  • He is the fastest Holiday Twisted, surpassing Twisted Coal (during Blackouts) and Twisted Bobette. Excluding Twisted Dyle's variable speed, he is also the fastest Twisted in the game overall, outpacing Twisted Pebble in his enraged form.
  • It is possible for Twisted Razzle & Dazzle, Twisted Blot, Twisted Rodger, and Ichor Leak puddles to overlap with passive Twisted Gourdy if they spawn with him.
  • Using Vee's Mic Check, Brightney's Night Light, or the Party Popper Trinket while Gourdy is passive reveals that his entire body is burrowed underground. The puddle beneath him is part of his model.
  • He is the first Twisted with fully red eyes.
  • Gourdy's enraged body resembles a Long, a traditional East Asian folklore dragon.
  • Twisted Gourdy is the fifth Twisted that can hear Skill Check failures, Air Horns, Pebble's Speak! Ability, and Twisted Eclipse's howl from anywhere on the map, joining Twisted Astro, Twisted Vee, Twisted Dandy, and Twisted Dyle. He is also the first Holiday Twisted with a 9999 hearing radius.
  • You can feed Twisted Gourdy during his enrage animation. Oddly, he plays one of his normal gifted Item dialogue lines as though fed normally, but does not revert to passive and still becomes hostile.
  • After becoming hostile, the small Ichor puddle marking his spawn location remains on the ground.
  • Twisted Gourdy has the most sound effects of any Twisted at 25.
  • He is the second Twisted with a custom attack sound, after Twisted Bobette.
  • Some of his dialogue suggests he still longs for companionship, paralleling his Toon counterpart's yearning for his parents.
  • Twisted Gourdy is the first Event Main Twisted to appear in the game's thumbnails.
  • During the 2025 Halloween Event, he remained on the Daily Twisted Board for three consecutive days (October 31 to November 2) to ease Research grinding. This ties him with Twisted Sprout for the most consecutive days on the board, though unlike Sprout, this was done intentionally.
  • Twisted Gourdy is the only Event-Main Character that does not have concept art revealed yet.
