Strategies

This Trinket heavily relies on RNG for it to be good. Because of it relying entirely on chance, it is not recommended to use this Trinket. Though, there are various occasions where this Trinket could help. Using it on All-Rounder Toons like Gourdy, Looey, Teagan, Tisha, and Yatta could help you decide what to do on that Floor (though Stealth could be a non-factor to some).

For distractors and kiters, the 12% boost on Movement Speed can help a lot. Pairing it with Dog Plush will give a 23.2% Walk Speed boost, much higher than the 15.5% with Speedy Shoes. However, as Lucky Coin can also boost Stealth, it can sabotage you instead. Hidden Stealth boosts can induce difficulties for teammates, so try to inform them if this occurs.

For extractors, the 12% boost on Extraction Speed or Skill Check can be useful, especially on later Floors with risky Machines and dangerous Twisteds. Toons with 3-Star in all their stats (being Boxten, Eggson, Poppy, Ribecca, and Rudie) may get more value out of Lucky Coin compared to other Toons, as the boost will benefit them no matter what. Ribecca in particular is immune to Debuffs, allowing Lucky Coin to always provide its full value without being dampened. Cases for buffs: Extraction/Skill Check boost (2/5 Floors), Speed/Stamina boost (2/5 Floors), Stealth boost (1/5 Floors).

Best Users and Why It Is Still Niche

Lucky Coin is closest to a flexible all-rounder trinket. It makes the most sense on Toons that can pivot roles floor by floor and are not ruined by drawing the 'wrong' stat. Tisha, Yatta, Teagan, Looey, Gourdy, Ribecca, and similar balanced picks handle it best because nearly any buff can be turned into value.

That said, Lucky Coin is still niche because reliable trinkets usually win over time. Most players climb faster with predictable movement, extraction, or cooldown tools than with an RNG slot that occasionally spikes and occasionally misses their real need.

When to Use It and When Not To

Use Lucky Coin when you intentionally want a flexible wildcard slot, especially on balanced Toons or in casual/public runs where you are adapting every floor anyway. It can also be a fun second slot when your first trinket already covers a stable baseline.

Skip Lucky Coin in serious progression or role-locked builds. Distractors usually want dependable movement, extractors usually want dependable machine value, and supports usually want dependable survival or cooldown help. Lucky Coin is hardest to justify when the floor plan demands consistency.
