Megaphone Trinket Guide

Description

Megaphone is one of the usable Trinkets found in Dandy's World and is a Store Trinket. It was added on September 28, 2024, alongside Cardboard 'Armor', Lucky Coin, and Water Cooler. It can be bought from Dandy's Store in the Lobby for 1850 Ichor after encountering 125 Twisteds and reaching Floor 20.

It appears to be a white megaphone with a red speaker. There are two red exclamation marks displayed on its left side. There is a dark gray stripe around the rim.

Strategies

Megaphone works similarly to Pop Pack, granting the Air Horn Item every new Floor. It can be used to help in distracting and rescuing teammates who are in sticky situations, such as being chased by a fast Twisted. However, for 4-Star Movement Speed distractors, this usually removes your potential to distract faster Twisteds such as Twisted Shelly and Twisted Toodles and forces the active use of Stamina periodically, as valuable speed Trinkets like Speedy Shoes cannot be used. Because it grants the Item every other Floor, it is not recommended for 4-Star Movement Speed distractors.

Air Horns are most useful when your team's Stealth stats are either shared or lower than your distractor's. There is little reason to equip this if your teammates have higher Stealth than you. Additionally, if the user already has their Item slots filled, this Trinket does nothing that Floor.

A few Toons may gain a benefit from this Trinket: Bassie may utilize it better than others, owing to her high mobility and Stealth, and can hold onto Air Horns and deliver them to distractors. Pebble can utilize it by using the Air Horn if his Ability is on cooldown. Toons with high Stealth like Cocoa can use Air Horns to take Twisted aggro, with Cocoa's Ability spawning BonBons for extra speed. Toons with speed boost or Stamina support Abilities like Tisha or Astro can use Air Horns to force Twisteds toward them while helping teammates escape.

Air Horns can be extremely dangerous on solo runs or runs where distractors are not present, as they attract Twisteds to your location. If you pick the TIME'S UP Card, use your Air Horn(s) in the elevator while Dyle's Floor loads, as using them on the Floor will cause Twisted Dyle to reach his maximum speed.

Trivia

• Megaphone is the first and only Trinket that requires reaching a certain numbered Floor.
• Megaphone is the fourth Trinket to directly give Items to its user, with the first being Crayon Set, the second being Pop Pack, and the third being Fishing Rod.
• Despite Megaphone's description saying it grants the Air Horn every other Floor, it specifically grants it every odd-numbered Floor, so pairing it with Clown Horn is a good combination for distractors.
• Megaphone gives an Item that negatively affects Stealth but is not in the Stealth Trinket category, likely because the Stealth effect is indirect.
