Bone Trinket Guide

Appearance

The icon appears as a stereotypical white bone with a round, rainbow/Dandy schemed-striped bow tied around the center. The bow's color scheme closely resembles Dandy's own rainbow palette rather than Pebble's gray tones, making Bone one of the few Trinkets whose appearance does not match its corresponding Toon's color scheme.

Strategies

Bone is most convenient to Toons such as Pebble, Coal, Cocoa, Yatta, Bassie, and Gigi, whose Abilities best support utilizing the boost. Pebble's Passive and Coal's Active Ability, Fetch! and Scout respectively, better prepare them to activate Bone, enabling better detection of Items around the map. Cocoa's Ability, Bonbon, allows her to drop a BonBon onto the floor, giving her the ability to activate Bone consistently. Yatta's Passive, Piñata Party, drops candy whenever she is hit or when she finishes a Machine, which helps bring Items into her vicinity and helps use the Trinket to its full potential, especially due to her low Stamina that makes her reliant on Movement Speed boosts to get around safely.

Bassie especially benefits best from this Trinket, as her Springful Sharing Ability has no cooldown, allowing her to infinitely pick up and drop Items from her inventory to trigger the speed boost. This does require some precision — if timed incorrectly, the boost wears out between pickups and does not deliver its full potential. Combined with Feather Duster, both Trinkets together give an easy method of escaping most situations that would usually be considered hard to get out of, providing extremely high mobility. Additionally, she can drop Items at a Treadmill Machine and then pick up an Item every 4 seconds, adding bursts of completion speed.

Gigi's Active Ability, Surprise!, gives her an Item of any tier, which counts as picking up an Item, meaning she will activate the speed boost every time she uses her Ability. This is useful because Gigi does not have much Stamina, turning her Ability into a more reliable resource for movement. However, due to her Ability's long cooldown, Bone is not the most recommended Trinket to pair with her compared to Bassie.

Best Users and When to Skip

Beyond the core users listed above, Sprout and Ginger are also decent Toons to equip Bone on. If choosing to Item grind, the player will constantly be running around collecting Items for Tape, making Bone's speed boost consistent and abundant. This is more for fun than optimal play, but it can be worth it in uncoordinated runs where other players will likely attempt to take Items first. Ginger benefits slightly more than Sprout in this scenario because she lacks the high mobility Stats that Sprout has, meaning other players are likely to outpace her and take Items before she can reach them — Bone helps close that gap.

Bone is not a good choice if playing in a team with Sprout, Ginger, or Teagan when they are Item grinding, unless the user plays as Gigi or Bassie. Those Toons need Items on the ground to fuel their own Abilities and Tape progress, and a Bone user picking up Items first will compete directly with them. In lobbies where your team already has strong Item coverage, consider a different Movement Speed Trinket like Speedy Shoes or Pull Toy that does not depend on Item pickups.

Best Pairings

Bone pairs exceptionally well with Feather Duster on Bassie, creating a dual-speed-boost setup that provides near-constant high mobility. For other Toons, pairing Bone with Speedy Shoes gives a reliable baseline Walk Speed buff on top of Bone's conditional burst, covering the gaps between Item pickups. Players who want maximum Machine completion speed can combine Bone with a Treadmill-focused strategy — drop Items near the Machine and pick them up every 4 seconds for repeated bursts.

Avoid pairing Bone with Trinkets that also require Item interaction to function, as this can create competition for the same trigger. If your second Trinket slot is already committed to a survival or extraction tool, Bone works best as the movement complement since it activates automatically on Item pickup without any additional input.

Trivia

Bone has undergone significant changes since its original release and holds several unique distinctions among Trinkets.

• Bone used to increase both Walk and Run Speed by 25% when a new Floor arrives for 10 seconds. This was changed in v0.2.0. This mechanic is now used in the Pull Toy Trinket.
• Prior to v0.11.4, Bone did not have a speed cap. This was changed due to players using macros on Bassie to reap its benefits without the skill or challenge, which put strain on the game's balancing — especially after the introduction of Twisted Dyle, whose role as a non-distractable Twisted was undermined by uncapped Bone speed despite Bassie's high Stealth. This cap may be temporary until other solutions can be found.
• Bone is the first and currently only rainbow-schemed Trinket that is not Lethal.
• If you pick up an Item for the second time while Bone's boost is still active, the multiplier will be 33.33%, and if you do it for a third time, the multiplier is 6.7%, likely to prevent going above 40 units of run speed.
• Bone is one of the few Trinkets whose appearance does not match its respective Toon's color scheme. The rainbow bow resembles Dandy's palette rather than Pebble's gray tones, leading to fan speculation that the Bone may be a gift from Dandy to his pet rock Pebble.
• Other Trinkets that similarly do not match their Toon's color scheme include Spare Bulb, Fishing Rod, Lucky Coin, Festive Lights, and Moon Pack Heirloom.
