Description

Festive Lights is one of the usable Holiday Trinkets found in Dandy's World and is a Twisted Trinket. It was added on January 10, 2025, alongside Coal, Peppermint Icing, and Toy Kit. It was obtained by achieving 100% Research on Twisted Rudie.

The Festive Lights consists of five almond-shaped Christmas lightbulbs whose colors alternate between red and white on a black string with a curl at the end. They do not appear to be glowing but are also not visibly out. Despite being a Trinket linked to Rudie, the red-and-white color palette does not directly match Rudie's overall color scheme, though you could argue the red matches the color of Rudie's nose.

Strategies

Festive Lights is designed for farming Ornaments, the Currency used to purchase Christmas Toons, Skins, and Stickers during the Christmas Event. Every 10 seconds it pulses a scan that highlights Ornaments in your vicinity, giving your team a clear direction to collect them. However, this Trinket carries notable limitations that make it a niche pick even during the Event.

The biggest issue is scarcity: only two Ornaments spawn per Floor. Dedicating a Trinket slot to locating just two items is a steep cost when that slot could instead hold a universally useful Trinket such as Speedy Shoes, Stress Ball, or Machine Manual. Using Pebble or Coal as your Toon is often a better alternative because their built-in Abilities can locate the same Ornaments without consuming a Trinket slot at all.

Hunting for Ornaments also pulls time away from extracting Machines and aggroing Twisteds, which are the primary objectives for progressing through Floors. If your team is already comfortable spotting the two Ornament spawns through map knowledge or communication, the Trinket becomes nearly worthless. Experienced players will often memorize common spawn locations, further reducing its value.

If your lobby still wants the scanning benefit, the most efficient setup is to have exactly one player equip Festive Lights and act as the scout. That player calls out Ornament locations so the rest of the team keeps stronger Trinkets equipped. Having half the team run Festive Lights is wasteful because the scans overlap and the team loses multiple Trinket slots for the same two Ornaments.

Outside of the Christmas Event, this Trinket has absolutely no function and will waste your Trinket slot entirely.

Best Pairings and When to Use It

Festive Lights pairs naturally with Toons that already serve a scouting or support role. Pebble is an interesting case: her Ability already reveals nearby items, so pairing her with Festive Lights is redundant. A better approach is to put Festive Lights on a distractor like Looey or Brightney who will be roaming the Floor anyway and can call out Ornament positions to the team while doing their primary job.

If you are determined to maximize Ornament farming, consider pairing Festive Lights with Speedy Shoes so you can quickly reach highlighted Ornaments before the Floor advances. For pure collection runs where your lobby is farming Christmas currency rather than pushing progression, one Festive Lights user alongside teammates running extraction Trinkets creates a balanced split.

Skip Festive Lights entirely when the Christmas Event is not active, when your team already knows spawn patterns, or when you need every Trinket slot for survival on harder Floors.

Festive Lights has several interesting details related to its history and design.

• Festive Lights' 10-second cooldown was temporarily changed to 15 seconds shortly after release, but it was reverted back to 10 seconds.
• Past the Christmas Event, this Trinket has no use and will waste your Trinket slot.
• Festive Lights cannot scan other Event Currencies, such as Pumpkins or Baskets, as the description explicitly says it can only scan Ornaments during the Christmas Event.
• Bone Needle and Thread and Egg Radar share similar scanning functions for other Events, highlighting Pumpkins and Baskets respectively.
• Festive Lights is one of the first Holiday Trinkets added to the game, along with Coal, Peppermint Icing, and Toy Kit.
