Appearance

The Trinket appears as a silver adjustable wrench with a noticeable thumb spring near the head, a lavender tape around its handle with two darker stripes in-between, and an oval shaped hole at the end of it.

Strategies

Wrench is a beginner-friendly Trinket that helps with extracting, behaving similar to a Jumper Cable item. As it allows you to get a head-start on a Machine every Floor, this Trinket is useful for various reasons: finishing a Machine in a heavily exposed area to lower Extraction time, letting distractors help with Machine progress without wasting time extracting, and finishing far-away Machines quickly to reduce potential hits caused by someone being unable to reach the Elevator in time.

Wrench can be used on Eggson to further fill a Machine, since his Passive Ability already fills 20% of a Machine. This collectively fills slightly over half a Machine — specifically 24 units or approximately 53.33% — making Eggson one of the best users.

Wrench doesn't synergize with Vee's Remote due to them both being triggered at the same time under the right conditions. However, it can substitute Vee's Remote if you haven't obtained it yet. It could also technically be used with Vee's Remote as a less effective backup in case your team completes half the Machines before you can activate Vee's Remote. Note that Wrench specifically adds 15 units to a Machine, or one third of the Machine.

Best Users and Why It Scales

Wrench is one of the best early-progression trinkets because its value is immediate, easy to use, and not dependent on clean Skill Checks. Eggson gets exceptional value because his Passive stacks naturally with the first-machine burst, but he is not the only good user. Vee, Bassie, Boxten, and other machine-focused Toons can also convert Wrench into safer openings by clearing the worst Machine on the floor faster.

Its real strength is tempo. Wrench shortens the amount of time your team spends exposed on the first key objective, which often matters more than total theoretical extraction value. On unstable public floors, that reliability is a major reason Wrench stays good long after players unlock more advanced options.

Pairings, Tradeoffs, and Alternatives

Wrench pairs well with defensive second slots because it already covers part of your machine tempo on its own. A common practical setup is Wrench plus a movement or stealth trinket so the extractor gets one strong opening tool without becoming too static. It is also a safe fallback when you do not have Vee's Remote yet.

Skip Wrench when your build already has enough first-machine tempo and would gain more from sustained value across every Machine. Magnifying Glass, Blue Bandana, and Vee's Remote all outscale Wrench in the right hands or lobby conditions. Wrench wins when you want consistency, not peak ceiling.

FAQ

How do you get Wrench in Dandy's World?

Wrench is bought from Dandy's Store in the Lobby for 325 Ichor. It is the second cheapest Trinket in the store, tied behind Coin Purse and Research Map.

Is Wrench worth buying in Dandy's World?

Wrench is a good beginner Trinket for extractors and can fill a niche role for distractors who want to contribute to Machine progress. Its primary upgrade path is Vee's Remote, which instantly completes rather than partially fills a Machine. Wrench also synergizes particularly well with Eggson, whose Passive Ability already fills 20% of a Machine.

Wrench or Vee's Remote is better?

Vee's Remote has the higher ceiling, but Wrench is cheaper, easier to slot into early progression, and more forgiving when you need reliable first-machine tempo every floor.
