Twisted Finn

Twisted Guide

Twisted Finn

Twisted Finn is an Uncommon Twisted released alongside Twisted Cosmo, Twisted Glisten, and Twisted Sprout on August 14, 2024. He is the corrupted version of Finn, the cheerful glass-bodied fishbowl Toon, and his transformation has left him without his lower half entirely. Despite this severe disfigurement, he continues to drag himself across floors in pursuit of players, leaving distinctive Ichor Puddles and trails behind him wherever he goes. In the Alpha 0.22.1 Finn's Week update, Twisted Finn was reworked so Twisted Barnaby now swims inside those Ichor Puddles, tying his enemy behavior more directly to Finn, Barnaby, and the Swimmy Barnaby arcade content.

Mechanic

Applies Slow III to a player who completes a Machine for 5 seconds. Since the Alpha 0.22.1 Finn's Week rework, his Ichor Puddles also include Twisted Barnaby swimming inside them, and Twisted Finn shows interest in Swimmy Barnaby Machines.

Appearance

In stark contrast to his Toon counterpart's bright, light-azure coloring, Twisted Finn's entire head has turned a deep shade of black, filled with dark Ichor rather than the clear water that once defined him. He retains a slightly darker-orange life jacket with gray stripes running across it. His mouth holds the same familiar smile as his normal form, but every tooth has been sharpened to a point, and the characteristic gap from a missing tooth remains. His eyes have transformed dramatically, now showing crimson sclera surrounding larger, rounded black irises with narrow slit-shaped red pupils at their center. Because his entire lower body is gone, he drags himself forward in a crawling motion, leaving a persistent trail of Ichor in his wake — evidence that the fluid contents within him are apparently not vital to his continued existence. The interior of his head is visibly empty of any fish or other objects. Whenever he spots a Toon, his mouth opens wide in what appears to be eager excitement and he tilts his head sharply upward. While his official render does not show it, the in-game model features a black shadow cast between his eyes, added during a later optimization pass.

Description

His primary mechanic triggers whenever any player completes a Machine while he is present on the Floor. The player who finishes the Machine immediately receives a Slow III Debuff lasting five seconds, which cuts their Movement Speed by a punishing 50%. This makes him one of the few non-Main Twisteds capable of inflicting status effects on players. The debuff is particularly dangerous during Panic Mode, when all remaining players need to rush toward the Elevator, and even a brief period of reduced speed can prove fatal if other Twisteds are nearby.

With a walk speed of only 8.5 and a chase speed of 16, Twisted Finn is among the slowest Twisteds in the entire game. His sluggish movement means he rarely poses a direct physical threat on his own, but his ability to debilitate a player at a critical moment — combined with his small, dark frame that blends easily into shadowy environments and Blackouts — makes him a deceptively impactful presence on any Floor where he appears. His Ichor Puddles and trail, while making him trackable from behind, also serve as environmental hazard indicators of where he has recently been.

How to Deal With Twisted Finn

Twisted Finn leaves Ichor Puddles and trails wherever he goes, making it possible to track his path from behind. Since Finn's Week, those puddles can include Twisted Barnaby swimming inside them, so treat fresh puddle visuals as both a location clue and a reminder that Twisted Finn has recently crossed the area. His dark coloring still allows him to blend into the mostly dim environment easily, especially during Blackouts, where he can be extremely difficult to notice. He is generally a slow and manageable Twisted as long as you are not the one to complete the final Machine. When this Twisted is present on the Floor, the recommended approach is to prime the Machine closest to the Elevator, leaving it at roughly 90% completion. Be sure to communicate this with your team — Twisted Finn's Slow III Debuff can be devastating during Panic Mode, so this strategy minimizes the distance you need to cover to reach the Elevator and greatly reduces the risk of being caught while debuffed.

The Debuff itself is severe, imposing a 50% Speed reduction that cripples escape ability for all Toons, including naturally fast ones like Pebble and Bassie, whose speed drops to roughly that of a 1 Star Toon. Movement Speed Trinkets or speed-boosting Passive Abilities will reduce but not fully negate the Debuff, since the Movement Speed Stat functions as a multiplier rather than a flat addition. Finn's own Passive Ability, which grants a speed boost when Machines are completed, will not completely counteract the Slow III effect on the player who triggered it. Sprinting while debuffed can also waste valuable Stamina, particularly for Toons with average Stamina Stats, leaving them vulnerable to follow-up encounters with other Twisteds on the same Floor.

Twisted Finn's small stature and dark appearance make him considerably harder to spot during Blackouts than most Twisteds. Having a Toon that can highlight enemy positions — such as Vee or Brightney during Blackouts — helps prevent accidental encounters. His extremely slow movement speed means he can linger in unexpected locations or lose aggression and circle back to an area you thought was safe, so always stay alert when his current position is unknown. Because he is the shortest Twisted in the game, visual identification at a distance is especially challenging even in normal lighting conditions.

Using Train Whistle or playing as Ribecca completely neutralizes Twisted Finn's ability, allowing Machines to be completed without triggering the Slow Debuff at all. The splash visual effect still plays upon Machine completion, but no debuff is actually applied, essentially rendering him equivalent to a Common Twisted with no special mechanic. This counter is especially valuable on floors that also feature fast Twisteds like Twisted Pebble or Twisted Dandy, the latter of whom charges toward any completed Machine and becomes far more dangerous when you are slowed.

If Swimmy Barnaby Machines are present, remember that Twisted Finn now shows interest in them. Do not assume his slow speed makes the area safe; check nearby routes, confirm where his puddle trail leads, and leave yourself enough stamina to exit after finishing a Machine or arcade-adjacent objective. Finn players should be especially careful because Reel In's 35% boost helps but does not fully erase Slow III when Finn is the one who triggered Twisted Finn's debuff.

Given his below-average speed, Toons with 3 Star Movement Speed can easily sprint-tap away from him with minimal Stamina expenditure. However, he can cause real complications when you are trying to shake multiple Twisteds simultaneously while looping around an island, since the Slow III Debuff dramatically reduces your ability to outpace faster pursuers. In team play, designate one player to handle the final Machine completion and ensure they have a clear, short path to the Elevator or a safe hiding spot. Coordinating who triggers the debuff and when is the single most important strategic decision on any Floor where Twisted Finn appears.

During Ichor Leaks, his dark coloring becomes even more problematic because the floor is already covered in Ichor puddles, making his trail harder to distinguish and his small form easier to lose track of among the environmental hazards. In these scenarios, keeping a mental note of his last known position and having teammates call out sightings becomes critical for safe Machine completion.

Trivia

  • Twisted Finn is the first Twisted to have his main color completely changed from his Toon counterpart's: Finn's light-azure skin turns a dark gray in his Twisted form.
  • He is the third Twisted to apply Debuffs, inflicting Slow III when a Machine is completed. The first was Twisted Astro (Tired III during chases), Twisted Rodger (Confused III and Slow III from his Capsule), and Twisted Vee (Slow II during chases). The second was Twisted Shelly (Confused I throughout her Floor).
  • This makes him the second non-Main Twisted capable of inflicting Debuffs on Toons, with the first being Twisted Rodger.
  • Coincidentally, Twisted Finn and Twisted Rodger both lack legs, inflict Slow III, and are Uncommon Twisteds.
  • Twisted Bassie's flowers also apply the Slow III and Tired III Debuffs.
  • Twisted Finn is the first non-Main Character Twisted to leave Ichor trails wherever he goes, with the second being Twisted Gigi. This is because half of his body is missing.
  • He is the only Twisted whose Ichor trail is present in Roleplay Mode. Twisted Rodger also has one, but only in his Twisted form within Roleplay Mode.
  • Twisted Finn is the shortest Twisted in the game, with the second shortest being Twisted Toodles.
  • He has the second-slowest chasing speed at 15.5, with only Twisted Ginger slower at 14. Excluding Holiday Twisteds, he holds the slowest chasing speed, making him the slowest Uncommon base game Twisted.
  • His ability is the direct inverse of his Toon counterpart's Passive Ability. While Finn gains a speed boost whenever any Machine is completed, Twisted Finn slows down the player who completes one.
  • How Twisted Finn lost his legs remains unconfirmed. Some theories suggest they were lost during the Ichor Operation, or that another Twisted tore them off, which would be plausible given his glass composition.
  • When using Train Whistle or playing as Ribecca, the splash effect that plays upon Machine completion still appears, but no Slow III Debuff is applied. These effects completely remove his ability, essentially rendering him as a Common Twisted.
  • Prior to v0.13.13, Twisted Finn was one of the few Twisteds lacking any shadow between their eyes, which is reflected in his current render.
  • After his optimization, a shadow was added between his eyes, making him the fourth Twisted eligible for a full render update, alongside Twisted Rodger and Twisted Tisha. The first was Twisted Dandy, the second was Twisted Astro and Twisted Glisten, the third was Twisted Toodles, and the fifth was Twisted Bobette and Twisted Coal.
  • In his attack face, Twisted Finn tilts his head upward, apparently trying to look at the Toon he is chasing. However, due to their small sizes, he cannot look at Pebble and Coal.
  • Twisted Finn is the third Twisted to have Ichor shown inside his head (along with Twisted Glisten), following Twisted Boxten, Twisted Razzle and Dazzle, and Twisted Toodles as the first group, then Twisted Shelly and Twisted Teagan as the second. The fourth is Twisted Gigi, the fifth is Twisted Bobette, the sixth is Twisted Bassie, and the seventh is Twisted Ribecca.
  • Among Twisteds with Ichor-filled heads, Twisted Finn, Twisted Shelly, Twisted Teagan, and Twisted Bassie are the only ones whose heads are not broken in any way. Twisted Boxten could also count if his possibly broken clasp is excluded.
  • Twisted Ginger could also be considered to have Ichor inside her head, though it is unclear whether the Ichor is coming from inside or is simply on top of the bite mark.
  • The Alpha 0.22.1 Finn's Week update reworked Twisted Finn so Twisted Barnaby swims inside his Ichor Puddles.
  • After the same update, Twisted Finn shows interest in Swimmy Barnaby Machines.
