Appearance

Brick, as its name suggests, is a plain red brick with a rough, blocky shape. There is a white note taped onto its surface. Written in bold lettering, the note reads "I HATE BRICK" and is most likely left by Shrimpo, expressing the Toon's frustration with their Twisted counterpart's reward being nothing more than a literal brick.

Strategies

Brick is one of only two purely disadvantageous Trinkets in the entire game, alongside Coal. Its 10% reduction to both Walk and Run Speed applies universally, meaning every Toon becomes slower when equipping it. There is no hidden upside, no conditional benefit, and no niche where Brick outperforms an empty Trinket slot.

The only deliberate use case is self-imposed challenge runs. For the genuine Shrimpo experience, equip Brick alongside the Coal Trinket while playing as Shrimpo, Soulvester, or Connie. Coal further penalizes stats, stacking the difficulty. If you did not play during the Christmas Event and lack Coal, the Cooler Trinket can substitute as a secondary penalty piece. One quirk worth noting: if you combine Coal with Shrimpo specifically, Shrimpo's Stealth stat actually increases rather than decreasing, because Coal's negative modifier applied to Shrimpo's already negative Stealth creates a double-negative that flips positive. This interaction is minor and will not meaningfully change the outcome of a run.

To understand how much speed you actually lose, consider the star-level breakdown. At 1-Star Movement Speed, Walk drops from 10 to 9 and Run from 20 to 18. At 3-Star, Walk falls from 15 to 13.5 and Run from 25 to 22.5. At 5-Star, Walk goes from 20 to 18 and Run from 30 to 27. These reductions are large enough to affect chase spacing on every floor. A Toon that could previously out-walk certain Twisteds outside of Panic Mode may no longer be able to do so, turning safe hallway traversal into a sprint-dependent scramble that drains Stamina.

For any serious run where survival matters, do not equip Brick. Every other Movement Speed Trinket in the game provides a positive effect, so there is never a competitive reason to choose Brick over alternatives like Dog Plush, Speedy Shoes, or Pink Bow.

Challenge Run Pairings and When to Skip It

If you are intentionally running Brick for the challenge, the strongest penalty stack is Brick plus Coal on Shrimpo, Soulvester, or Connie. These three Toons already have low base Movement Speed, so the combined reductions create a noticeably harder experience where even basic floor navigation becomes dangerous. Shrimpo sits at 2-Star Movement Speed, Soulvester at 2-Star, and Connie at 1-Star, meaning the absolute speed numbers after Brick's penalty are extremely low.

Skip Brick in every other scenario. If you are trying to complete Machines efficiently, survive deep floors, or contribute meaningfully to a lobby, any positive Trinket will outperform Brick. Even Toons with very high base Movement Speed like Pebble or Looey gain nothing from Brick — the 10% penalty simply erases part of their natural advantage. There is no floor, no Toon, and no team composition where Brick provides strategic value outside of intentional handicap play.

Trivia

Brick is one of the most notorious Trinkets in Dandy's World for being entirely counterproductive, and it holds a unique place in the community as a joke reward.

• This is currently one of the only two Trinkets that is purely disadvantageous to equip, the other being Coal.
• This is one of the two Trinkets to have decorative text in its description, the other being Blushy Bat. Scrapbook previously had decorative text as well, but it was removed shortly after.
