Twisted Guide

Twisted Dandy

Twisted Dandy is an enormous and highly dangerous roaming Twisted that patrols the hallways without purpose. True to the mysterious nature of his Toon counterpart, he has a unique spawning requirement: players must refrain from purchasing any Item from Dandy's Store for at least three consecutive Floors where Dandy appears. Each time all surviving Toons skip his shop, Dandy grows progressively more agitated. After the third consecutive skip, Dandy becomes angry and Twisted Dandy gains a 20% chance to spawn. Because Dandy's Shop only appears on even-numbered Floors, the absolute earliest he can become available is Floor 6.

Mechanic

Twisted Dandy is alerted to completed Machines, along with instantly killing anyone he attacks, like any other Lethal.

Appearance

Twisted Dandy features a large flower-shaped head bearing six petals that mirror the color scheme of his Toon counterpart. His face is an off-white shade, while his limbs and smeared blush marks are mint green. His shoulders, chest, stomach, legs, and feet are all coated in Ichor, giving his lower body a dark, corrupted look. His posture is heavily hunched in a manner reminiscent of a cat mid-stretch, lending him a feral and predatory silhouette despite his enormous size. Two loops of film tape encircle his stomach and lower back, and two Tapes are embedded into his upper back. His legs terminate in hoof-like appendages that produce heavy stomping sounds as he moves. His arms transition from white to a light spring green toward the forearms, each wrapped with two loops of tape and impaled by two additional Tapes. His right paw sports red, orange, and yellow claws, while his left paw has green, blue, and purple ones — all long, pointed, and matching his petal colors in a rainbow arrangement. He wears an open grin that becomes noticeably more excited and frenzied when pursuing a Toon, reflecting the unsettling contrast between his cheerful flower motif and his Lethal nature.

Description

With each additional skipped shop visit, this spawn probability continues to rise. By the sixth consecutive Floor where his shop is ignored (the third time after he becomes angry), the music in his Store ceases entirely, and Twisted Dandy can genuinely appear on the following Floor. The elevator TV will flash with Dandy's logo when a spawn is possible. Once he spawns (or if a player buys an Item from his Store), he returns to his cheerful demeanor, and players must skip three more shops to trigger the spawn chance again. If players ignore Dandy's Shop five times in a row after he becomes angry, Twisted Dandy is guaranteed to spawn on the next Floor with no randomness involved.

Twisted Dandy constantly emits a warped, music-box rendition of "Clair de Lune" accompanied by heavy stomping footsteps. These audio cues are loud enough to pinpoint his location and even determine whether he has spawned before the Elevator doors open, giving attentive players a valuable early warning. When a Toon fails a Skill Check, completes any Machine, uses an Air Horn, or triggers similar loud events like Twisted Eclipse's howl or Pebble's Active Ability, Twisted Dandy immediately rushes toward that source from anywhere on the map unless another Toon already has his attention. If he arrives and finds no one there, he resumes his aimless patrol.

As a Lethal Twisted, any attack from Twisted Dandy will instantly eliminate any Toon regardless of their remaining Health. According to the game files, he deals 99 damage, which functionally kills every character in one hit. The only way to survive contact is through invincibility frames granted by a non-Lethal Twisted hit or by using a Savory Charm.

How to Deal With Twisted Dandy

Before attempting to spawn Twisted Dandy, make sure every player on the team is aligned on the plan. Since Dandy's Shop will be completely off-limits during the spawning process, your party will lose access to a vital source of Items for multiple consecutive Floors. Avoid bringing Toons that rely heavily on purchased Items, such as Soulvester and Shrimpo, unless the team can compensate by alerting them to floor-spawned Items and reserving extras for their use. Careful coordination during the shop-skipping phase is essential, because a single accidental purchase resets the entire spawn counter back to zero.

Once Twisted Dandy actually spawns, managing his Machine-attraction mechanic becomes the central challenge. Because he charges toward any completed Machine from anywhere on the map, the most effective strategy is to "prime" Machines by filling them to near-completion without finishing them. When you are ready, have a teammate with high Extraction Speed complete a primed Machine on the far side of the map to lure Twisted Dandy away from the group. Critically, avoid priming Machines near the Elevator, because having Twisted Dandy rush to that area during Panic Mode can be fatal. If you trust your teammates, prime several Machines close together and finish them simultaneously to minimize the time spent running between objectives.

After completing any Machine while Twisted Dandy is present, immediately duck behind cover or take the long way around to break line of sight. His pathfinding prioritizes the shortest route to the completed Machine, so positioning yourself on the opposite side of an obstacle is key. Twisted Dandy shares the same speed as Twisted Finn, meaning he can be kited and distracted using standard evasion techniques. His massive size makes kiting both easier and harder — he can block narrow corridors, but he also struggles with sharp corners. Stand at the end of a long obstacle and feint to one side to force him to commit, then break the other way to make him lose aggro faster. If you find yourself sandwiched between Twisted Dandy and another Twisted, always run past the non-Lethal Twisted, since its smaller hitbox and non-fatal damage make it far less dangerous.

When a Bobette player is acting as a decoy using her solar distract, the team should avoid looping around tight islands or making sharp turns. Twisted Dandy could easily switch aggro onto Bobette and instantly eliminate her. Instead, find an open area where you can follow a medium to large circular path. Give Bobette a slight head start toward the Elevator during Panic Mode so she is not left behind and killed. If Twisted Finn appears on the same Floor as Twisted Dandy, the combination becomes especially dangerous because Twisted Finn applies a Slow III debuff for 5 seconds after a Machine is completed, severely reducing your ability to escape Twisted Dandy's charge. Counter this by having someone distract Twisted Dandy while Machines are finished, or use a Train Whistle or Ribecca's Ability to nullify the slowdown.

Several Toons are particularly well-suited for Dandy runs. Sprout, Teagan, and Ginger can convert Tapes found on the Floor into healing resources for the party, making otherwise useless pickups valuable. Coal's Active Ability highlights Items for other players, while Pebble's Passive Ability Fetch highlights nearby Items automatically, ensuring fewer supplies are missed. Pebble's Active Ability can also lure Twisted Dandy from anywhere on the map, redirecting him away from teammates or objectives. Gigi's Active Ability generates random Items, providing extra saves such as Speed Candies or Valves. Bassie's Item-sharing Ability ensures fair distribution of scarce supplies like Health Kits and Bandages. Yatta's Passive Ability drops candy that can include high-value speed Items like Box o' Chocolates, reducing reliance on Dandy's Shop. Blot can spend Tapes to activate his Ability when teammates are being chased, though this should not be used if Twisted Dandy is already distracted. Cocoa constantly drops BonBons, which grant both speed and Extraction Speed boosts — useful for maintaining distance and completing Machines faster.

Even if Tape-consuming Toons are not in your party, always pick up any Tapes you find. Dandy runs are long and difficult, and you may choose to abort after he spawns, if party members are eliminated, or if he sells particularly useful Items. Having Tapes on hand gives you flexibility. If a teammate accidentally purchases from his shop, immediately take advantage of the intermission to buy anything useful, since the spawn counter is already reset. Finn and Shelly both gain Movement Speed boosts when a Machine is completed — Finn's Reel In grants 33% and Shelly's Problem Solver grants 25% — directly countering Twisted Dandy's tendency to charge toward finished Machines. Shelly can also use her Active Ability to help teammates extract Machines faster.

Trivia

  • Twisted Dandy and Twisted Dyle share several notable parallels, likely because both hold Lethal status.
  • Both are capable of instantly eliminating any Toon they attack.
  • According to the game files, they deal 99 damage to Toons.
  • Prior to Twisted Dyle's introduction, Twisted Dandy only dealt 3 Hearts of damage.
  • This change was likely prompted by Soulvester's addition, who has 4 Hearts thanks to his Passive Ability, Knightly Armor.
  • The 99-damage value may also reference their Toon counterparts' 99 Hearts of Health.
  • Despite their lethality, invincibility frames from a non-Lethal Twisted hit or Savory Charm will prevent their attacks from connecting.
  • Dandy's internal designation is L-001, as he is the first Lethal. The 'L' could alternatively stand for 'Leader,' referencing his role in the Show.
  • Neither of their Toon counterparts are publicly accessible.
  • Both of their Research entries describe lore rather than mechanics.
  • The lower halves of both their bodies are fully engulfed in Ichor and resemble animals — Dyle's is serpentine, while Dandy's evokes a blend of a large cat and a horse.
  • Dandy exhibits feline behavior in promotional material, pawing at the air and rolling in tapes as though they were catnip.
  • Both Twisted Dandy and Twisted Dyle crawl as their form of movement.
  • They each have unique spawn conditions — Twisted Dandy can appear after skipping Dandy's Shop three times in a row, while Twisted Dyle spawns when the TIME'S UP Card is selected.
  • Both possess rainbow-colored claws.
  • Both can still detect Toons using Smoke Bomb or Connie's Haunting Escape, but cannot see Bobette when she activates Precious Packaging.
  • At Twisted Dyle's minimum speed, the two share identical movement values.
  • Both can detect a failed Skill Check from anywhere on the Floor.
  • Of all their similarities, Twisted Dandy came first, with Twisted Dyle being the second Lethal Twisted added to the game.
  • A lullaby-style arrangement of 'Clair de Lune' plays when Twisted Dandy is present, also audible in his Lobby Shop. The track is available on the Roblox Audio Library and was published by APM Music, who licensed their library to Roblox. The audio has been processed with a bit-crushed effect.
  • Completed Machines trigger the same response from Twisted Dandy as failed Skill Checks, Air Horns, Twisted Eclipse's howl, and Pebble's Active Ability — he charges toward the finished Machine.
  • Because Dandy's Shop only appears on even-numbered Floors, the earliest he can become available is Floor 6.
  • Twisted Dandy is the largest Twisted in the game, and his size is even more imposing when his model is edited to a standing position.
  • It is suggested that Dandy can willingly shift between his Twisted and Toon forms, a trait not observed in other Twisteds, who remain locked in their current state. How he achieves this remains unknown.
  • Excluding Event Twisteds, Twisted Dandy has the longest attention span at 5 seconds. Including Event Twisteds, Twisted Ginger holds the record at 10 seconds, with Twisted Dandy tying Twisted Coal (on non-Blackout Floors) and Twisted Soulvester.
  • The Astro Toon can only be purchased after encountering Twisted Dandy at least once, reflecting the connection between their Toon counterparts and possibly hinting at Astro's knowledge of the Ichor Operation.
  • This means Twisted Dandy requires the least Research of any Twisted tied to a specific Toon or Trinket unlock, at just 1%.
  • Twisted Dandy is currently the only Twisted without both a Toon-spotted and lost-interest sound effect (excluding non-Main Twisteds).
  • His Research description is the shortest of any Twisted, containing only 79 characters.
  • Twisted Dandy's original design concept may have been partially repurposed for Twisted Astro, as both featured four arms.
  • He is eligible for a full render update due to the Tapes texture having changed since his release. He was the first Twisted eligible for this, followed by Twisted Astro and Twisted Glisten, then Twisted Toodles, Twisted Finn and Twisted Tisha, and Twisted Bobette and Twisted Coal.
  • There is speculation that Twisted Dandy may receive future buffs to make him impossible to distract, placing him on a comparable threat level to Twisted Dyle.
  • Twisted Dandy is the first Twisted to receive an official plushie.
  • He appears in the official music video for 'Locked Away' by CG5.
