Has a chance to hop over obstacles, both while wandering and in chase.
Appearance
Twisted Cocoa retains the general silhouette and proportions of her Toon counterpart, but nearly every surface carries signs of corruption. Her ears are bent and contorted at unnatural angles, with the left ear heavily stained by dark Ichor that seeps into the surrounding fur. Her overall color scheme is noticeably desaturated compared to the warm browns of the original Cocoa, giving her a faded and sickly appearance. She wears a persistent expression of anger or irritation during her idle and wandering states. Her eyes have been completely transformed, now featuring red sclera, solid black irises, and bright red pupils that stand out against the dulled palette. A chocolate-brown shadow sits directly above the chocolate drizzle marking between her eyes, adding depth to her already unsettling face. Her left eye is particularly disfigured, surrounded by Ichor bruising that keeps it partially closed at all times, even when she blinks. All four of her limbs are thickly coated in Ichor, with the dark substance visibly clinging to her arms and legs. When Twisted Cocoa enters a chase or hears a failed Skill Check nearby, her expression shifts dramatically into a wide, malicious smile and her pupils dilate, making her appear far more threatening than her idle state suggests.
Description
Twisted Cocoa is a Rare Holiday Twisted introduced during the 2026 Easter Event alongside Twisted Bassie, Twisted Eggson, and Twisted Flyte. She is the Twisted counterpart of Cocoa and was originally the only Rare Twisted without a unique ability, a distinction that changed when her obstacle-hopping mechanic was added during that same event.
Her signature ability allows her to leap over most obstacles that do not reach the ceiling, both while she is roaming the floor and while actively chasing a player. This makes her far more threatening than a standard chaser, because the usual strategy of ducking behind low cover becomes unreliable. Paired with a chase speed of 21 and a walk speed of only 8, she is deceptively fast once aggravated but relatively easy to avoid when she is simply wandering. Her attention span of 0.8 seconds is the shortest of any Twisted in the game, which serves as a critical balancing factor against her otherwise punishing pursuit capability.
Because she can jump onto secondary elevation levels on maps with raised floor areas, Twisted Cocoa can catch players off-guard while they are working on Machines or idling at supposedly safe AFK spots. Her presence on a floor forces teams to stay mobile and alert, as relying on static safe zones is no longer viable. The combination of obstacle-hopping, high chase speed, and platform-climbing makes her one of the most mechanically unique Twisteds in the current roster despite her Rare classification.
How to Deal With Twisted Cocoa
Twisted Cocoa may superficially resemble a faster Twisted Toodles, but her obstacle-hopping mechanic fundamentally changes how you need to approach evasion. While most Twisteds can be looped around low cover indefinitely, Twisted Cocoa can leap over barriers that do not reach the ceiling, which eliminates many of the safe strategies players rely on by default. Understanding her speed thresholds, her jumping limitations, and her extremely short attention span is essential for surviving encounters with her.
In terms of raw speed, the only Toons she can outrun without Movement Speed Trinkets are Connie, Razzle and Dazzle (on even-numbered floors), Shrimpo, and Soulvester, all of whom have 1-star Movement Speed and a Run Speed of 20 units. For these vulnerable characters, equipping Movement Speed Trinkets like Speedy Shoes or Pink Bow can dramatically improve survival odds and should be considered a mandatory loadout choice whenever Twisted Cocoa is in the spawn pool. Without that extra speed, these Toons have almost no margin for error if she locks onto them.
For all other Toons, Twisted Cocoa cannot be outwalked unless you are a 5-star Movement Speed Toon with a Movement Speed Trinket or a 4-star Movement Speed Toon with both Dog Plush and Clown Horn or Ribbon Spool active. This means you will generally need to rely on sprinting to stay ahead of her during a chase. Two notable exceptions are 1-Heart Looey and Eclipse during a Blackout, both of whom can match her chase speed of 21 as long as they avoid excessive cornering without sprinting. Players using these Toons should keep their health or Blackout status in mind, since losing the speed bonus mid-chase is almost certainly fatal.
When she is chasing you, your primary goal should be creating distance rather than finding cover. Her attention span of 0.8 seconds is the shortest of any Twisted, which means she may break off pursuit relatively quickly once line of sight is broken. Hiding behind an obstacle at a distance can end the chase even if the obstacle is one she could jump over, because the attention timer expires before she reaches you. However, if the map is compact or other dangerous Twisteds are nearby, navigate through multiple rooms with tall, ceiling-height walls to hide or loop her, since she cannot pass through full-height walls. Avoid using small islands or half-height cover for looping because she will simply vault over them and close the gap.
When distracting her on behalf of your team, kiting in open space is straightforward, but island-based looping requires extra caution. If you turn a corner around a low obstacle, she may get briefly stunned while attempting to jump over it, which can temporarily block your looping path and force you to reverse direction. Alternatively, she may leap ahead of you entirely, putting her directly in your path and forcing you to swerve into open ground. This is particularly dangerous when accompanying Twisteds like Twisted Scraps are present, since swerving away from Twisted Cocoa can send you straight into another threat. Coordinating with teammates so that one player kites while another finishes a Machine is the safest approach on floors where she spawns alongside aggressive ranged Twisteds.
Be aware that Twisted Cocoa can jump onto raised platforms on maps with secondary elevation levels, which can catch you off-guard while working on Machines or collecting items on upper walkways. Stay alert and listen for her unique audio cue that plays whenever she hops over an obstacle, as this sound can warn you before she arrives. This platforming mechanic also means she can reach certain AFK spots that are normally safe from other Twisteds, most notably on the Diner map variant 1. If she is part of the floor rotation, your team should avoid idling in elevated positions and instead designate a lookout or simply keep moving between Machines to minimize exposure.
Trivia
- Unlike her Toon counterpart, her running animation features a hopping motion.
- Her left eye remains open regardless of blinking state, likely due to Ichor damage weakening the surrounding muscles.
- She was originally the only Rare Twisted without a unique ability until the 2026 Easter Event introduced her obstacle-hopping mechanic.
- When the Easter Event first launched, she was erroneously labeled "Cocoa Monster" in the Twisted Research menu, which was quickly corrected. This may have been caused by an accidental name transfer in the code, since all Twisteds' internal files append "Monster" to their name. How this leaked into the lobby menu remains unclear.
- She is the fifth fastest Twisted overall, a rank previously held by Twisted Toodles and Twisted Shelly. Twisted Dyle at maximum speed ranks first, enraged Twisted Gourdy second, Twisted Bobette and Twisted Coal (during Blackout) third, and Twisted Pebble and enraged Twisted Glisten fourth.
- Among Rare Event Twisteds, she is the fastest if Twisted Coal's situational speed is excluded.
- She holds the shortest attention span of any Twisted at 0.8 seconds.
- Her obstacle-hopping buff in the 2026 Easter Event was likely inspired by a bug where Twisted Sprout could climb over obstacles after his hitbox was updated during optimization.
- Prior to the 2025 Halloween Event, developer Qwel confirmed that a Twisted capable of climbing obstacles was in development.
- The "Wilting" music video suggests that Twisted Bassie was likely responsible for Cocoa's transformation, which would explain the Ichor bruising around her eye and the damage to her ears.
- While it is technically possible that Cocoa jumped from a height to escape (Twisted Bassie corners her on a raised secondary floor, likely behind the now-boarded-up room), the former explanation is more consistent with the lore.
- If confirmed, this would make her the second Twisted with a known cause of transformation, after Twisted Bobette.
- She has a unique audio cue that plays whenever she hops over an obstacle, whether wandering or chasing, which can alert nearby players to her presence.
