Twisted Guide
Twisted Connie
Twisted Connie operates in two distinct states. When she first appears on a Floor, she takes on a translucent blue appearance and drifts around aimlessly. During this passive state, she does not attack Toons, and you can safely gather Tapes, Research, and Event Currencies by approaching her without risk, similar to Twisted Glisten. She wanders the Floor and periodically possesses a nearby Machine for a short duration, producing a blue smoke cloud during the transition just like her Toon counterpart's Ability.
| Rarity | Uncommon |
|---|---|
| Walk speed | 8 |
| Chase speed | 18 |
| Attention span | 3 seconds |
| Detection range | 25 (circular vision) | 60 (direct vision) | 100 (hearing radius) |
| Research reward | Ghost Snakes In A Can |
Mechanic
Wanders around invisible while passive, temporarily possessing any machine she finds and walks up to. Gives warnings during possession by causing the Machine's red light to turn blue and make rattling noises. Sends an unavoidable attack if a Toon tries to extract it.
Appearance
Twisted Connie's color palette is noticeably duller than her Toon counterpart's. A section of her white visor has been broken away, though her shirt appears undamaged. She has wavy hair with Ichor staining the front ends, and Ichor drips from both hands. As with most Twisteds, her sclera are red with a darker red ring in her pupils. A dark cyan shadow sits between her eyes, and her eyelashes appear jagged and uneven. In her passive wandering state, she takes on a translucent light blue hue reminiscent of her Toon counterpart's Haunting Escape Ability, displaying a weary expression while crying Ichor and gazing to the side. When a Toon interacts with a Machine she is possessing, her face shifts to an annoyed expression.
Description

If she possesses an already completed Machine, it takes on the appearance of a nearly finished (99%) Machine, though it still counts toward the completion total. For uncompleted Machines, the progress percentage remains unchanged. If she possesses a Machine mid-extraction, progress freezes at whatever point it had reached. Four signs indicate a Machine is currently possessed: the valve resets to its default upside-down Y position; the valve rattles; the Machine's top light flashes blue accompanied by a shaking sound (this occurs twice before she exits and returns to passive mode); and you will receive Tapes upon approaching the Machine if she has not been previously encountered.
Interacting with a possessed Machine causes her to leap out and deliver an unavoidable attack before returning to her wandering state. If she possesses a Machine during active extraction, the player is forced to stop extracting. Importantly, she only strikes the Toon who attempted to use the Machine, leaving nearby teammates unharmed.
How to Deal With Twisted Connie
Twisted Connie ranks among the easiest Twisteds to handle. That said, carelessness can cost you a Heart for entirely preventable reasons, so staying attentive is important. Her core mechanic revolves around Machine possession rather than direct pursuit, which means the primary danger is absent-mindedly interacting with a possessed Machine rather than being chased down. Before extracting any Machine on a Floor where she is present, pause for two to three seconds and check the valve position. If the valve has reset to its default upside-down Y shape, or if it rattles, or if the top light flashes blue with a shaking sound, the Machine is possessed and you should back away and wait for her to exit on her own.
Communicate with your teammates whenever a Machine is completed, and alert everyone as soon as you confirm Twisted Connie is on the Floor, even if you trust them to watch out on their own. This information is especially useful for distractors who might try using Vee's Remote on a possessed Machine without realizing it. If she does land a hit, remember that her attack is unavoidable once triggered, so prevention through awareness is the only defense. It can be useful to have a team member shadow Twisted Connie to track which Machine she is currently inhabiting, which is particularly helpful in larger groups with spare members. During solo runs, keeping a mental note of which Machines you have already completed helps immensely. The most reliable prevention method is simply checking Machine handles before extracting. If someone in your group is running distractor duty, make sure they know exactly which Machines are confirmed safe before they commit Vee's Remote charges.
Understanding Twisted Connie's detection ranges helps you manage her passive state more effectively. She has a 25-unit circular vision radius, a 60-unit direct vision cone, and a 100-unit hearing radius. Because she does not chase Toons and is the only non-stationary Twisted with that trait, you never need to flee from her directly. However, if you have not yet encountered her on the current Floor and her Research is already collected, the Tape collection sound will play when you approach a Machine she is inhabiting. Deliberately avoiding her line of sight to preserve this one-time audio alert is a niche but helpful tactic. During Events, the Event Currency pickup notification is even more noticeable when approaching a possessed Machine, providing an additional layer of warning. If Vee uses her Mic Check Ability while Twisted Connie is inside a Machine, the word "Twisted" and a directional arrow will appear pointing to the Machine, but Connie's model will not be highlighted. Since this behavior is unique to her, it always confirms her presence on a Floor.
When it comes to Trinkets and Items, Twisted Connie's associated Trinket is Ghost Snakes In A Can. For general item strategy, Smoke Bombs have limited value against her because she does not chase players and her attack upon Machine interaction is unavoidable regardless of visibility. Your item slots are better spent on tools that help against other Twisteds sharing the Floor. Vee's Remote should be used cautiously on any Floor where Twisted Connie is active, since accidentally targeting a possessed Machine wastes the item and triggers her unavoidable attack. Prioritize items that protect against the more aggressive Twisteds you will encounter alongside her.
Twisted Connie's behavior does not change during Panic Mode. Her speed remains unaffected, making her the only non-stationary Twisted with this property, and she can still possess Machines throughout the entire Panic Mode duration. This means the usual Panic Mode urgency of rushing to finish remaining Machines carries an added layer of risk, because the temptation to extract quickly without checking for possession indicators increases. During Blackout Floors, the reduced visibility makes spotting her possession indicators harder. Pay extra attention to the audio cues, specifically the valve rattling and the blue light shaking sound, since visual confirmation of the valve position or light color may be obscured. The Tape collection sound upon approaching an unencountered Twisted Connie's possessed Machine becomes even more valuable during Blackouts as an early warning system.
On Floors where Twisted Connie appears alongside other Twisteds, her low threat level can lead to complacency. The real danger is that checking for her possession indicators takes a few extra seconds at each Machine, and those seconds of standing still near a Machine can expose you to more aggressive Twisteds patrolling nearby. Position yourself so you can observe the Machine's valve and light while keeping an escape route open. While not generally advisable, you can follow Twisted Connie around since she may lead you to uncompleted Machines during her wandering, but this wastes time due to her slow roaming speed of 8 units and risks drawing you toward other Twisteds on the same Floor. In multi-Twisted scenarios, the safest approach is to clear Twisted Connie's possessed Machine from your mental list and move on to the next one, returning only after she has exited.
Trivia
- She was the first Twisted to have her design, mechanic, and rarity revealed before her official release. Her mechanic was changed between the reveal and launch, as she was initially planned to attack on Skill Check failure, but instead attacks when a player attempts to use a possessed Machine.
- She and Twisted Looey were the first ever optimized Twisteds, with the ability to change expressions and blink. She is also the first optimized Uncommon Twisted.
- Her design was not finalized until the 10/17/2024 art stream, as evidenced by an alternate outline sketch.
- She is the second flying Twisted, following Twisted Flutter, with Twisted Flyte third and Twisted Soulvester fourth.
- When asked about supposed leaks for a Trinket called Ghost Yogurt, developer Qwel created a joke art piece depicting a simple PNG of yogurt with a black outline in the style of other Trinkets.
- Dialogue from Connie after completing a Machine hints that Twisted Connie haunts Machines during her non-passive state, which is confirmed by her in-game behavior.
- She is the only non-stationary Twisted whose speed is unaffected by Panic Mode.
- She is the second Twisted to interact with Machines, after Twisted Astro, and currently the only Twisted that alters a Machine's visual appearance.
- She has the slowest roaming speed among base game Uncommon Twisteds at 8 units. Across all Twisteds, she ties for the third slowest roaming speed with Twisted Coal (non-Blackout), Twisted Cocoa, Twisted Goob, Twisted Scraps, and Twisted Soulvester. Twisted Ginger at 7.5 is second slowest, and Twisted Yatta at 7 is the slowest.
- She is the only non-stationary Twisted that does not chase Toons.
- She can still possess Machines during Panic Mode.
- She was the first Twisted to display an angry attack face, alongside Twisted Looey, followed by Twisted Eggson and Twisted Flyte, Twisted Vee, Twisted Dyle, Twisted Shrimpo, Twisted Eclipse, Twisted Ribecca, and Twisted Soulvester, and Twisted Teagan. Notably, Twisted Coal and Twisted Pebble are excluded from this list despite being optimized, as they lack dedicated attack faces.
- She is the third Twisted with two distinct states (non-possessing and possessing a Machine), after Twisted Razzle & Dazzle and Twisted Rodger, followed by Twisted Glisten, Twisted Coal, and Twisted Gourdy.
- Her encounter Research can be obtained through walls.
- Her code may have been based on Twisted Glisten's due to their mechanical similarities, including identical activated walk speed and run speed values.
