Obtaining Currency
Ichor is earned by completing Machines (5 Ichor per Machine; if multiple players contributed, 1 Ichor per 20% of completion they contributed), collecting Research Capsules (2 per Capsule), using a Toon's non-Passive Ability for the first time on a Floor (5 Ichor, once per Floor), or purchasing with Robux.
Research is earned by collecting Research Capsules (1% per Capsule, 2% when playing as Rodger) and encountering Twisteds (5% per Encounter, 10% when playing as Rodger).
Tapes are earned by completing a Floor (10 Tapes), using Items (2 for Commons, 3 for Uncommons, 5 for Rares, 8 for Very Rares, 10 for Ultra Rares), completing Machines (10 Tapes for 100% completion, 1 per 10%), encountering Twisteds (5 Tapes per Twisted), and using a Toon's non-Passive Ability (3 Tapes).
Event Currencies (Baskets, Ornaments, Pumpkins) are earned by encountering Twisteds (1 per Encounter), collecting the Currency's Item collectables (5 per collectable), completing Machines (5 per Machine), and purchasing with Robux. Event Currency amounts are doubled on weekends.
Tips and Tricks
Having Coal in your run or playing as Pebble is excellent for collecting currency, as their Abilities highlight Items in their vicinity or across the entire Floor.
Playing as Rodger is extremely helpful for collecting Research, as his Passive Ability Detective allows him to collect double the amount of Research.
Using Bone Needle and Thread, Egg Radar, or Festive Lights during their respective Events can help collect Event Currency more quickly.
Playing as Toons with high Extraction Speed, Skill Check, or Abilities that assist in extracting Machines (like Eggson, Vee, or Gourdy) is helpful for collecting both Tapes and Ichor.
Trivia
All Event Currencies have been leaked earlier than their Events' releases.
The Event Currencies are the same object as the Event Main Toons.
All Common Event Trinkets are used to highlight their respective Event's currency. Research Map does something similar, but with Research instead.
Rodger is the only Toon that can collect double the amount of a currency (Research).
Coin Purse and Fancy Purse are the only Trinkets that can give the player a currency (Tapes).
Research and Tapes are the only Currencies that cannot be used for purchasing Stickers and Skins, and are the only currencies that cannot be bought with Robux. Tapes are the only Currency with no use outside of a run.
It is implied that Tapes contain recordings of the show, which may explain why Dandy wants them so badly, as they calm him down.
FAQ
How do you earn Ichor in Dandy's World?
Ichor is earned by completing Machines (5 Ichor each), collecting Research Capsules (2 Ichor each), using a non-Passive Ability for the first time on a Floor (5 Ichor once per Floor), and purchasing with Robux. The code 'ICHOR' permanently gives 50 free Ichor.
What is the difference between Tapes and Ichor in Dandy's World?
Ichor is spent in Dandy's Store and Dyle's Store to buy Trinkets, Toons, Skins, and Stickers. Tapes are spent during runs in Dandy's Shop for Items and on some Toon Abilities (Sprout, Blot, Teagan, Ginger). Tapes have no use outside of runs.
