Delilah Keen — Dandy's World Lore Guide

Appearance

Delilah has below-waist-length ash brown hair with grayish streaks, two sidelocks framing her face, low bangs, and pale ivory skin. She wears dulled rainbow-themed pants and a white lab coat, both stained with black (presumably Ichor) on the cuffs and right sleeve respectively. She also wears baby blue rubber gloves — the right glove covered in Ichor — as well as black shoes. Her smile is large and somewhat eerie compared to any other character, human or Toon. Like all other physically depicted humans, her eyes are cast in a pitch black shadow.

Role at Gardenview

Delilah's job was responsible for the creation of Toons. Ichor stains her clothes and her equipment is that of a stereotypical scientist. Based on the notes scattered throughout the game, she had a passionate attitude toward her work, and Arthur doted on her reliability. She was likely a workaholic — evidenced by her dependency on coffee and a coffee stain visible on one of the notes.

Delilah comes off as blunt with a more logical outlook, contrasting Arthur's idealism. In her notes she often signed in large, bold text and gave direct orders. In response to Arthur's concern over Holiday Toons hiding in corners, she wrote that the behavior was natural and that Toons not interacting during off-season was "a waste of resources."

Notes and Transcripts

Delilah's first known note to Arthur was a demand for references for Dandy's friends, noting she was out of coffee and needed more "ASAP." In the 042 Radio Transcript, she reminded Dyle that the radio channel was for emergency contact only. In a CCTV footage with Cocoa, she arranged for Cocoa to secretly deliver a gift — described as a flower — to Bassie, noting that Bassie "may not want to accept a gift from me."

In the Veronica and Vee CCTV footage, Veronica mentions that Delilah and Arthur have plans for "Vee Version Two," to which Vee expresses deep concern. Delilah also wrote a note to Arthur stating that Bassie should not be the Main class Toon, citing that Bassie was "too reliant on fellowship" and urging him to reconsider. A personal loan application from October 4th, 1984, shows both Arthur and Delilah's signatures co-signing to fund Gardenview.

Trivia

Delilah appears tainted by Ichor in her portrait, hinting at her direct involvement with the substance behind the scenes.

  • Delilah is likely the one bringing the Toons to life via unknown means, with Arthur providing the references.
  • Arthur and Delilah follow a semi-common mascot horror trend where one founder designs the characters and the other defictionalizes them, ending in disaster.
  • Camera footage with her, Arthur, Pebble, and Dandy reveals she is left-handed when writing.
  • Delilah likes coffee, preferably pure black.
  • Delilah makes a brief cameo in the song "Locked Away", looking away from Gourdy and vanishing as he reaches for her.
  • In one of Arthur's notes to Delilah, a phrase is partially covered by Ichor; it correlates to Delilah's Easter note phrase: "I know this is very last moment."
