Overview

The Rainbow Rooms are generally the smallest floor type in the game, though some occurrences of certain variants are bigger than other maps. These floors are designed with a childlike aesthetic, featuring colorful rugs throughout, and are believed to have been play areas for children when Gardenview was open.

The 7 named variants include the Projector Room, Variant 2, Four Corners, Rainbow Walls, Variant 5, Variant 6, and Variant 7. Rainbow Rooms are the only Floor type to have variants with proper names, those being the Projector Room, Four Corners, and Rainbow Walls. In the game's code, Rainbow Rooms are referred to as "EmotionMap".

Strategies

As the Rainbow Rooms can spawn from the start of a game, most variants aren't very difficult. However, that doesn't mean they can't be challenging, as they're still like any other kind of floor in their way. The Rainbow Rooms are generally below average in size, which in itself can mean less distance to waste stamina on, or less free space. Which one depends on the variant, and which is applied can make a difference.

Rainbow Rooms often have large, open spaces balanced out with rooms, sections, or halls. The layout and placement of such can further affect gameplay. The Projector Room and Four Corners variants are both larger than most other variants, and hence have quite dangerous Machines. Even with the smaller ones, there are Machines that can be on walls, in mini-rooms, near or in small nooks, or behind obstacles (which depending on size and placement, can either aid in escaping or keep you trapped). Despite this, areas like these can still help in certain situations. If you are extracting near a small room or hall, you can use it to corner off sight, and if possible, you can hide behind obstacles.
